331  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / The Sims Mod Board is having problems, too. on: 2007 October 02, 06:25:05
It's very easy to see how My Sims could appeal to some Sims fans, escpecially the younger ones. It's definitely one of those things that could be very popular and give the Sims more crossover appeal. On the other hand, a more realistic-looking Sims game might have been more suited for the Wii, given the realistic gaming experience it's supposed to provide. I only play computer games though, so either way it's no big issue with me.

Someone should fix him up with Carmen Patch. I'm sure the children would be beautiful.
333  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Carla Niven must be destroyed! on: 2007 September 30, 19:03:36
There's a Sim model search at S2C right now that name drops Carla. The 'host' is one of her models. Thought of entering a fugly sim as a joke, but I won't subject any of my sims to that.

What a pshycopath. Anyone that attached to their sims needs extensive therapy. She should be thrown in a padded room with Jan.
One time I uploaded a self sim to the Exchange when I used to go on there, and a couple days later, someone used my head and added a bunch of CC. Mine got three stars and was taken off and theirs is still on there, though I lost the link ages ago. It was really, really weird, but I was more amused than anything. If you don't want someone using your stuff, don't upload it.
335  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Question about TSR on: 2007 September 26, 23:49:14
Yeah...wasn't Spore supposed to come out last year at one point?
It's starting to sound like the Maxis version of Chinese Democracy.

Sometimes I wonder if CN keeps s/h/it's site up and running just to cause us pain.
One of my friends once referred to the Maxis/EA faces as 'science experiments gone wrong'. That term definitely applies to Carla Niven's items as well.
337  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Question about TSR on: 2007 September 26, 19:55:38
I'm glad I stopped going on TSR. Very tempted to post that pic on the exchange, but I stupidly use the same user name everywhere, so it may not be a good idea.
Interestingly, I actually used to have some free NeptuneSuzy hair I got from TSR, but got rid of it after reading about what a lovely person she was

Windkeeper has posted on her thread at the TSR forums, so it looks like she is back.

::::happy dance::::

By the way, I think it's GOOD that community creators actually work for EA...maybe that's why some of the BV items don't suck!

Yeah...that's how I feel too. While it's understandable to see how it can be portrayed as selling out, it's good that they're paying attention to the fact that there's a lot of good custom creators out there that could help make the EA content better.

If you're looking for a way to voice your opinion on TSR or other paysites without actually doing anything to the site or getting kicked off, check out http://www.netdisaster.com

I took Bon Voyage out for reinstallation the other day, and put my backup folders in. I forgot the backup folder still had the meatslab dress in it. As soon as I saw it in CAS it seemed to be saying 'I'M BAACK!!!'
344  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Main Street Sims: BTG's Golden Fuck Nut Award Winner on: 2007 September 15, 00:24:01
I've been reading this thread, and she kind of reminds me of this girl I went to college with. She used to blow up at people all the time for no reason, and threaten to beat them up. She also used to say she had stories she'd wrote in her head...

TSR is going to be the last paysite to go down...but hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later.

I second that.

We really need to try raise awareness.  I'm sorry, but when you're first going out for custom content, you go to tsr.  EA links to them on their site, it's the first thing you get when you Google "sims 2 custom content."  A lot of people don't know their options.  I mean, tsr and Peggy were the first places I got my custom content.

I totally agree with you. People who are new to the game definitely need to know that there are much better sites out there. Those were some of my first places for CC too before I came across sites that had better content. When you're starting out looking for CC, and don't always know better, those are usually the first sites to come across. I was fortunate enough though to have discovered MTS2, which is one of my favourite CC sites, fairly early on also though.
