1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / well these are preeettyyyyyyy.... on: 2007 June 19, 01:51:14
I don't mind some chest hair and I really think my bf's scruffy face works well on him.  My position on personal hair has always been: I'll take off mine if you take off yours ... and it really spoils the mood if you have to stop and hack up a hairball.  LOL

Hmm ... I kinda like the first one.

Yar!  What Hecubus said!

Now I wish my Spanish wasn't so rusty.

Well that much is obvious.  Nobody who is happy is that petty and mean-spirited.

I'm not reading through 5 pages to see if someone already said this, but with Firefox you can disable those blinkies by editing her CSS.  Just delete every instance where it says "text decoration: blink;".  Or you can just disable her linked style sheet altogether.

There's a way to disable the blink tag for all websites. Type about:config in the address bar, put blink in the filter box then double click on browser.blink_allowed to toggle its value from true to false. Smiley

Actually this page is really handy, great tips for disabling lots of useless shit like that in Firefox. Kill that marquee tag!

Cool!  Have rum!  *passes*

Since you are not upset, I won't worry.  Smiley

Thanks, Alia.
Yeah, I guess that my poll won't be reliable at all, after this topic here
At least till someone opens the same topic in some hidden-paysite-owners-community

I didn't mean to skew your results.  I just wanted to make sure people knew about it and I've heard TSR reads us.  Maybe if you leave it open for awhile word will get to the other side?  What site would let the poll be advertised and attract both camps?

Great poll, Helena! Smiley

Although since you are a known PMBD symphatizer, I think the results might not be reliable. You're bound to have more pirate friendly visitors on your site than paysite supporters.

Now, wouldn't that be interesting if the same poll was on S2C or MTS2. They have much more visitors from all walks of (simming) life, and the poll would reflect the feelings of the simming community more accurately.

You could post a link to the poll in S2C's paysite thread ... or would that be against one of their rules?

I'll 2nd that.  I don't have a personal grudge against you.  I don't even know you.  Hell, I don't even own a Sims2 site!  I'm just a pirate trying to help the anti-paysite movement.

I am not going to play old-man-little-boy-and-donkey any longer.  The poll over there will now be closed, and pirate sites will not be listed.  I believe that any sims creator, pay or free, holds the ethical rights to their own part of the work, and I do not approve of unauthorised filesharing no matter what EA says or doesn't say.  End of.

Well unless I decide to do the next thing I was thinking of, and start a Federation for Sims Pay Sites Smiley   Maybe together we can fight the unreasonable EA EULA...

Thank you for illustrating my point about people not being sure of their facts. This is no longer true. The last poll voted against the no-pirate-sites linking rule and we now DO list sites who link to PMBD etc.

If there was any guideline I *would* like added to Sims community ethics it would be that people actually know the facts about anything before they publish information

Hrm.  I think Sybil would like her brain back now please.

I couldn't get the hang of that binning tool.  I found it easier to just follow HP's tut ... but I still am having trouble removing extra elder colors.  Will the plug-in remove extras easily or does it just remove ages completely?  I'm about to give up and just deal with my elders having tons of duplicates.  Sad

The plugin lets you assign a grey from one colour group to all of them - you tick the elder hair box in one colour and untick it in all the other colour groups and then when you've saved all the hairs will use the same grey.

The same works for excess age groups just untick them and save, this means they won't show up in the hair bin unless you're looking at the right age groups.

Thank you for letting me know.  I'll give the plug-in another go.  Hopefully I'll understand things better now that I'm not a total noob at binning.

Your right, Nouk.  It is all very strangely coincidental.  I suppose hacking might be to blame.  Unless someone steps up to host all of those sites the only thing we can do without any evidence of foulplay is to chip in as we are able to and help her buy what she needs to keep going.  We could help spread the word that she needs help once she makes her decision too.

Since they want to "be in bed" with both sides, maybe I should stop looking at them as being potential allies.

To be fair, I don't think that the FFSS has ever tried to please paysites.  Rather, they choose to alienate legitimate freesites, and call it collateral damage in their war against [paysites].

What I meant by "in bed" with paysites was that they have a history of punishing sites which link to PMBD or share payfiles with their free content.  They may not be making a verbal statement in favor of paysites, but their actions/policies speak loudly enough as they support the "rights" paysite owners claim to have.  At the same time, they try to give the impression that they think paysites are wrong by stressing freesites and rating sites which use no paymeshes higher than the ones that do.

It is just a bunch of wishy-washy nonsense really.

I was looking through WS's finds and happened across this site.  There is currently a poll asking if paysites are the villians or we are.  There is also space to leave comments if you feel the need.  The current results are 142 to 19 in our favor.
