Whoa. Wait a minute. I'm still confused at where TSR is getting the talent to come up with any kind of legitimate anything to create custom content?? TSR can't even find the talent to create a decent bit of cc when the tools are provided for them, but the talent to create the actual tools? No way. EA could write the whole process, wrap it up and deliver it to Tomass himself and it would still be complete fail. The TSR idiots will fall over themselves fucking up/misinterpreting it, all while infighting and backstabbing each other.

Not just that, but EA games are full of suck and bugs. They can't even be bothered to communicate with their customers about anything, especially the stuff they're supposed to handle (my game won't install, your stupid patch made my game go bloomy, why do I have 200 identical sims named Ivy abherhaksjjjheshilkfta, ect). They're too busy playing "not it" with their own crap, they will never in life take responsibility for some outside TSR crapplication and it's maintenance. I don't care how much monies and legal documents are involved, EA doesn't even claim responsibility for EA.

Unless I'm missing something, this whole thing reeks of hilarity.

That would first require some intent, forethought, planning and follow-through. None of which EA seems to excel at. Worry not. I'm sure their sloppy handiwork is enough to unleash heck on its own.

Since EA's so awesome at finding inappropriate ads from time to time, I can't help but wonder if they're sharing their advertising "pool" with TSR since they're such good friends and all.

Don't feel your mission of Paysites Must Be Destroyed has gone by the way side. I saw this thread from Nouk's website and read about all that was going on. So the words still is out there and you do have many of us who support the mission.

I play on a Mac and our Sims 2 is ported by Aspyr. Apparently Aspyr was (and may still be) in negotiations with EA to finish porting Sims 2 to the Mac OS. Someone suggested and it made me stop and think that EA wants to have SecuROM on the disks. Apparently there is a Mac OS version out there and Aspyr is refusing to add it to the game. To be fair I have never seen pirated versions of the Sims 2 for Macs. If that is so, kudos to Aspyr for standing up to the idiots that run EA. We Mac users may moan and complain to Aspyr, but overall they are pretty fair to us and don't treat us as if we are criminals.

I have learned a lot reading and lurking at this website. I read the TSR agreement and it made me laugh. I hope Coconut does send that information to EA and EA wakes up and smells the coffee. They bitch as the BBS because someone mentions InSim, but they drool over TSR and their porn ads?

Oh Whoa and Misery!  Suffering and Cross Bearing.  Our previously pure and untainted game, designed by WIll Wright for only the purest of motives, with no trace of commercial gain in it's ancestry has been ruuuuuuuinnnned by TSR and EA.  I shall pound my chest in sorrow, and play only freeware programmed by monks who have their bits handcarried down from the top of a sacred mountain by devout peasants who abstain from all eating, drinking and sexual pleasure for at least two years before and after.

No sarcasm intended, of course. 

No, Sims 2 wasn't ruined by TSR. There were a multitude of free content creators who shared their creations with the community and made playing the game not only worthwhile, but even enjoyable. They more than counterbalanced TSR. You could even count on modders within the free community to fix EA's many, many fuck-ups. So not even they managed to ruin their own game.  But now comes word that the absolute worst sims site ever is attempting to procure tools that would make custom content exclusive to them?

Yeah, I can see why the idea of having to pay Thomass and his whores tribute in order to access additional game content would be pissing people off and causing general alarm.

And thats why, I'll be modding for sims 3 - refuse to let TSR get the last laugh.  To be honest, I doubt they have a headstart.  They like to think they are special snowflakes, but I doubt they could manage to do anything even if given the tools.

Now, the buying is dependant on EA not using drm, or at least not something invasive.  They do?  I no buy.

For all we know, TSR may just be bluffing, and it wouldn't really surprise me. They don't actually have another source confirming their claim, do they? No.

Does anyone else think that any super special creating tool EA could give to T$R would likely be worse than a player-created one?  It could give T$R a lead in the beginning, but I doubt it would last long--the free community has the best modders, coders, and creators, and I bet it'd soon catch up.  Isn't it the free community that fixes EA's glitchy game?  I can't imagine TS2 in the hands of T$R alone.

What ad service can Thomass be using if he "accidentally" gets ads for dating services on his family friendly site?  I go to sites that aren't considered family friendly, and I've never seen a gay dating service ad anywhere on them.  The loads of people reporting them makes it obvious that it wasn't just one "oops."
