No way. True Religion's jeans are worth it, believe me.

It's okay, Stella, I believe you. Tongue

I don't know whether to believe OpenLegs or not.  On one hand, a lot of people are liars on the Internet.  On the other, people are unnecessarily open on Myspace.  I think, though, the general consensus is that what he has posted and the mental images that follow are disgusting and make you want to take a shower.

Or maybe that's just me. Tongue

Though it's usually easier for women to claim mental illness and get off just a little bit easier.

Just like in the Sims.  Mental illness is always a good excuse for things.  I didn't do my homework last night.  I have a mental disorder.  It's okay, right?  Yeaaaaah.

Just like Lyric?    They love the attention!  I bet Lizard only came to ramble because s/he wanted to be talked about.  Tongue  So many people have self-esteem issues these days.  Sims players seem to have a lot of problems!

It always amuses me that people who hate filesharers and tell us we're doing naughty things are quick to do illegal/questionable things themselves.  It's because damn thieves deserve it, innit?
485  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / ok i'm confused on: 2006 November 09, 23:30:39
Heh, well, it's always good to be REALLY sure about an answer.  Cheesy

Filesharers are very nice.  That's why the word "share" is in the name.    It's not a battle between SFV and PSMBD--both sites are worth going to, and whatever your preference, you're gonna get the booty either way.  Cool

I never responded to Lizard, but I don't think that means I agree with their rambling.  Wasn't trying to say it was against the (absent) rules or that I care about being on-topic--it just seemed weird to me that people are still responding to a person that probably won't be back after getting their ass handed back to them after spouting their stupid shit.

Of course now that I've said that, Lizard will be back and continue along their little tirade and deny ever having had touched the booty.

I don't remember how I stumbled upon MATY.  I'm pretty sure I ended up there because of MTS2, and got to MTS2 because of GameFAQs.

I usually don't say much at all, so I can only surmise that I just took the time to read about the site and lurk a bit before joining after getting into the forum and, ahem, paying my subscription fee.

Oh.  I didn't realise it was one word.  That would be the kind of mistake I would make.  Jeez.

Either way, I don't see any doves or crack.  I'm disappointed.

I think Lizard was trying to go for a muted colour palette, but failed so very hard.

Also, what in the world is a "cote"?  UrbanDictionary tells me that a cote is
"a crack-induced hallucination that begins a chain of reactions that ends with that person being totally screwed".

Heh, I've seen a fair share of drama caused over wallpapers.  It's so silly.

Although it may start out as being a nice gesture to the donaters, having some people donate because they want in on the donation gift might go to the creator's head and have them start down the path of becoming a paysite because they know people are willing to pay to get some of their files.  Not that, y'know, they wouldn't have already made people pay for their stuff regardless of quality because, hey, anyone can make cash off Sims stuff, right?

It's such a small icon for RetailSims, but hopefully before long there'll be a plethora of them on the front page and we can all point and laugh.   Cheesy
491  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Another site goes free on: 2006 November 08, 01:58:26
I agree with you, Motoki.  Part of it is just not wanting to get in trouble, and another part being the fact that most people cannot resist shiny free stuff and not wanting to admit to such wicked behaviour.

I feel no need to "come out" here, since I'm not really well-known on Sims forums, or even that active on them.  It'd be useless.  Tongue  I'm more of a lurker anyway.  I am a member of S2C and MTS2, and if they ever ban me for partaking in this and "finding me out", it won't stir much shit up with me.  I just keep my mouth shut on it over there because it's a waste of my energy, no one is ever going to be swayed, and it just makes me frustrated.  I argued in length one time with some people about whether using a person's content in pictures, movies, and stories without credit to the artist was plagiarism or some stupid shit like that and that was the last time I ever bothered to express my opinion there.

Also, perhaps some of the people who don't want to be banned for their behaviour may simply not want to lose ties with their forum buddies (yay cliques), or to start a new forum life elsewhere and find a new clique.

Why are people still responding to Lizard anyway?  Lizzie seems to have run off after pillaging the goods and attempting to save their soul.

I hate skinny jeans.  I prefer flares--like a good coverage of my shoes.   Tongue
493  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Retail Sims on: 2006 November 08, 01:42:56
You know it will.    What's your story?  Dying children?  Mental instability?  You know you dooooo.  Tongue
494  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Retail Sims on: 2006 November 08, 01:23:24
Well, even if it was considered a paysite, I'm sure PSMBD would be more than willing to helping you alleviate those pesky bandwidth costs  by uploading your stuff.

Just having the option up for people to donate isn't a problem in my eyes (as long as it isn't accompanied by a sob story about starving children or mental instability).  I usually just ignore it since I'm piss-poor and can't afford to pay for things I can live without anyway.

Sending people a gift for donating and the donaters were completely unaware of getting something nice in return for cash, I'm ambivalent about.  On one hand, it is a gift and wasn't being "sold" to the donater in exchange for the money.  However, word would get out (Omg, where did you get that?) and either people start sharing it or you get some people beginning to donate because they want the item but no one would share with them.  (Assuming it was some sort of item that could be used in the game itself.  A nice graphic like a button or avatar wouldn't really stir up much jealousy or curiosity, I don't think.)
495  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Why do people pay for some of this stuff? on: 2006 November 08, 01:16:57
I've always been tempted to see if I can't scrounge up some money to dona--er, pay sites like Peggy that EVERYONE just seems to love, but I could never be bothered.  And have since been much less inclined to bother to pay once I discovered I cared so little about the "morality" of a practise like file-sharing.  It has been, and will always be, just a game to me, so I don't really take the people flippin' out over the horrendous thievery going on here ( ) very seriously.

And I absolutely hate it when I look at something in game and realise it looks like shit compared to the preview that I ogled at for the couple of seconds it took to download.

Mostly I think people pay for stuff that may or may not be any good is usually because the item is made by a prolific artist so it MUST be good and/or it has to be good, otherwise it wouldn't be a pay item, right?    They would NEVER use the money for anything other than bandwidth... All paysites are honest and really do just use the money for the benefit of the site...
