LLawliet, did she take your money? If so....issue a complaint with PayPal. That's fraud.

My love for 12ness. Let me show you it.

Okay...next step:

I worked with the canvas and notepad textures - canvas was as low as I could get it, but I could make the notepad even more subtle... it looks rather flat here but is more textured as you get closer to it.

I  think the idea of using the canvas texture for a natural fibres set is gonna be the way to to.

I've also turned them into bona fide wall packages for testing; get 'em here. Let me know what you think!

Perhaps I can alter Notepad a bit to appear a bit more like rolled paint and a bit less like stucco then. The canvas is nice - I might think about doing some canvas walls, perhaps in some colors like natural fibres... (I'll be making walls until I die...yikes!)

I'm working on some solid walls - most of what I see is too flat, too overtextured, or just in colors I dislike. However, I'm having a hard time with getting the right texture... so below is a pic with three textures, compared to the plain one. Which do you prefer? I would expect that the better your graphics card, the more detail you'll see... but I want people to be happy with them.

So which do you prefer? And if you can't tell the difference...well...I guess you won't mind then. Wink

Ya know...this is how the Jan debacle started...almost no one knew about them, and it was a single note that they were going free that started all the mess. At least then I had the power to change the thread title (as I was the OP).

I suppose that's a lesson to paysites: If you want to fly under our radar, don't make a stink. The moment you make even a tiny wave, we're are ON it.

YOu know, you gotta love a threat like this:

However, if people come from PMBD or suspicious, I won't give you pass word.

We make TSR cry...you think we're gonna be stopped by some tiny shit site's idle threats? HAH. She's a pimple on the butt of the guy who cleans out the stable of TSR.

*glomps Hecubus*

Don't let Pescado see you doin' that! Wink

I wonder if any more FA's will approach the light at the end of the tunnel and escape. There's certainly a lot more of them that deserve to create freely :]

Especially when the experiences of those who have left has been so positive.

YOu do have a point. There was nothing crazier than being cussed at on a weekly basis by some random schmoe.

But in terms of freedom of information, discussion, and opinion, we're in great shape. There are no major thread deletions, no overwhelming glomp attacks (well, except for our utter fangurldom of Aikea and Nouk), and very little in the way of internal drama (comparatively).

This reminds me of how almost every site seems to start off warm, welcoming, community-y... and then descends into the iron fist of Stalinist doom, where everyone is walking on eggshells and watching what they say like a hawk. It's sad, really, especially for those who are left with the memories of "the good ol' days."

That's one thing that's so great about here: with a few exceptions of notable moments (Jan, LL, Suzy), THESE are the good days here. We had some rough times early on.

And no one's got an iron fist of Stalinist doom. :::quickly hides axe:::::

If I may... when I first joined the booty staff last winter, there was a list of paysite owners who were 'friends' and weren't to be pillaged. We found that hypocritical, so when Bluesoup souped, we made the decision that ANY site who offers content for pay would be considered a paysite, and if we got the item donated to us, we'd post it in the booty. This did get us into a bit of a fight with Numenor's item, but we felt we had to draw that line.

This is not to say we don't like some paysite owners - Sandy at Around the Sims is a doll, and I've always gotten along with the Holy Simoly kids. But if you can't get it unless you pay for it, it's a pay item.

What I wonder is if he's been getting paid for downloads since his retirement...if not, and he was still listed as an active FA, he's probably got some recourse.

Ah, but they don't pay any attention to us, didn't you know? We have no effect on them whatsover....  [/sarcasm]

I have split off the rant from the booty shopping list. That post needs to stay pretty clean and clear so the booty staff knows what to go shopping for. Eventually, this will get moved to ARR ...meanwhile, have at.

I built a compost pile with chicken shit, but at least I wasn't wearing Carla Niven.

(Sad but true...my dad read it was great for our plants.)
