It compressorizes down to 5.18 meg, if that helps... I'd say it's got a lot of redundancy, which tells me this person just didn't know how to clone the object properly. Or how to make decent-sized texture files that maintain good resolution. Oh yeah, the missing 18.5 minutes of the Watergate tapes is in there too.

Celli, use Clean Installer to go through your downloads folders and suss it out. I would love to look at its guts and see if it's got, oh, the Pentagon Papers imbedded, or maybe the first season of Pinky and the Brain in it.

The primary purpose of this thread is to get critical feedback from fellow pirates - and it's helped many of us become better creators as a result. Often, there will be posts of completed work, but a great deal of the time it's after some other discussion about the creative process has taken place, and we get to see the finished result here - or it's something by a fairly new creator hoping to get a feel for others' opinions. It is NOT a blatent advertising thread, or a 'love my shit or else' thread. If you want nothing but blind adoration, go elsewhere.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame

Despite being gone a fair chunk of time, I've just finished reading this whole thread, every page of it.
Whether TSR were free or pay, it is irrelevant. They are basically allowing a potential threat to child safety to go on without consequence. I'm fairly sure there's a standard over the Interwebz where if you are under 13 years of age, you can't provide personal information (without parental consent?). If a site discovers someone under that age is posting personal information, it is their duty to remove it, otherwise I'm pretty sure they can be held responsible.
As far as I'm concerned, it's no longer about being "family-friendly", it's about PROTECTING any children that may be members of that site. I couldn't give a rats ass, in this particular case, if TSR is pretending to be family-friendly or charging thousands of dollars for flood-fill content. I am way more concerned about the fact that this can be easy-pickings for a paedophile.
I think its ridiculous if sites are not allowing this WARNING to be posted simply because they don't want to"get involved" with the TSR/pay/pirate issue. It has NOTHING to do with that.
In my mind this is likely a legal issue - IIRC, facebook got in trouble for something similar to this: paedophiles could easily message some 12 yr old with a profile. How is this any different from what TSR is turning a blind eye to?
Amen. I am still surprised with what we came up with here - I thought we'd see some skank clothing, not opportunities for pedophilia AND the site manager's blind eye.

Cala, you promised to only do that dance for me! :::wails::::
But back to topic: I know that there were people bitching when the first paysites appeared for TS1, but there was not enough organization to make much of a stink. Fortunately in 2006, Pescado saw a way to give some people butthurt, and from a desire for endless amusement, a movement was born.
What's interesting about the thread you posted however, is that even in 2004, they were already on the defensive - it's as though they all knew this was wrong right from the start.
Amusing. And fascinating.

heh...glad I could inspire! And...I'm glad the notebook texture works out. I plan on releasing about 48 wall colors - will start with a baseboard-only version, then create ones with crown moulding, chair rails, and some wainscoting too. I'm playing with natural fibres too, for the canvas texture...fingers crossed they work out well and don't look like some others' walls (I think Tribecca has a set like that). Added because no one else posted inbetween: I've got the first set of walls complete - all but one (I thought I had 48, but I apparently have 47...whoops). Here's a preview of them. But now I have two questions: 1. do you want each wall individually wrapped? Or all in one set? Or both? 2. gven the colors I've done, what kind of color do you want me to do? (The Sherwin Williams palette is massive).
