It seems we cannot spell "governor" properly. It's the thought that counts.

For Texas I found:

"8.     texas
A state in the southern USA. Its in the south. There are billboards about Jesus. One can buy waffles there.

Look! a billboard about Jesus and waffles!"

"51.     texas
Fattest state in the fattest nation of the world.

Texas is the fattest state in the fattest nation of the world."

Oh, the New York State ones are great...and true. Highlights:

1. Not really a state, it is actually more like 4 states:
-State of New York City
-State of Westchester County
-State of Long Island
-State of Upstate

None of these 4 areas has anything in common with the other 3.

The state line is at the Tappanzee Bridge.

3. a land mass put in place to quarantine(sic) new england from the rest of the country. not sure if it's for their good or ours

  - that Urban dictionary is hilarious.

Quote
The most Australian place in Australia the last true remnant of Australiana. Where snobby nosed euro wannabe, outsiders from the southern states fear to tread. Where XXXX is drunk and people are tough.

Queenslander: Oi where you from cunt!

Outsider: Victoria mate!

Queenslander: fuck off back there you greasy cunt before i knock ya out! and stop trying to speak like a queenslander ya mug

Outsider: Ok im going home now to drink cat piss beer and root a hairy greek woman.

Going to have to agree with you on that one. We've got lots of hairy Greek women in Melb and VB is cat piss.
Does it have no mention of being the place where neighbours characters all go when they leave?

Victoria has a boring relevant entry boring so here are a couple of the other meanings.
Quote
a simple accident, or event that leads to pain. An experience that leads to stress or frustration. A stupid, yet laughable situation in life.

"Did you just trip DOWN the stairs?"
"yeah, i busted a Victoria..."

"OMG OMG OMG what do i do?Huh"
"stop being a Victoria."

Could someone tell me why half of the words for this state are other states?

And let's see - western russians are a mix of slavic and nordic blood, so yeah, the similarities aren't that surprising.

A friend of mind that I talk to almost every day is a Swede - he confessed that he sometimes has a harder time speaking swedish than english, listens to mostly british punk, post-punk, and rock.  Will behave when I threaten to play Hej Tomtegubber, a song he should never have given to me, since I'm a wistful person who will play it on my radio show.

People say I look welsh, my ancestry says I'm mostly german, and my grandmother denies completely that her father was a Rom, but my mom's stories indicate otherwise - not surprising, my grandmother is a bit.....peculiar.

And I knew that about Italy - the city-states thing, not the lack of blondes, because I know that's not true, a friend of mine in college had a thing for blonde italtian men.  One of my professers in college was from Italy, and she explained it.  She was also always stylishly and beautifully dressed, but in a good way, not following fashion, so much as having her own style.

Ok, I'm:
Half Dutch, half Surinam.
My ancestors where Dutch, Creole, German, Jewish, North African, Native Indian, Portuguese.

I should marry a nice Asian dude to complete the mix Smiley
But, I have decided to marry someone with Surinam/Antillian blood, wich is very hot *yum*.

No offense to your friend - if he have lived for many years in an English-speaking country and rarely speak with Swedish people, that may very well be true, but one thing that annoys me (and amuses me a bit too,) is when I meet fellow Swedes who have done their compulsory post-High School "live-and-work-in-London"-rhumba...  Then coming home after a year (or three months...) - all of a sudden more British than the Brits themselves, and also having HUGE difficulties with their native language as well  "Oh, I'm so sorry for speaking English all the time but I'm just SOOOO much more used to it now - I don't even think about it!"

Oh they all go to Queensland! Actually, I was in Melbourne recently, and apart from the scrummy gourmet chocolate houses (the ones in the mall where they serve coffee and a selection of choccies - which you can tell took my fancy) not a lot different from Brisbane.  There's so many goddamn Sydneysiders and Melburnians moving here now it's not funny.

There's a serious lack of housing, and house prices are astronomical (inner city houses reaching prices of $1mil easily - the house I grew up in is worth about $750,000).  And everywhere, there are millions more people than there ever used to be.  There are benefits though - a coffee addict like me doesn't have to walk more than 5 minutes to get a latte.

He said it was just from being online so much and working in the computer field.  Of course, I only speak with him in text, so I don't know, but he said it started when he was a little kid and wanted to play all those really old text based rp games.  Of course, it started with me saying I was losing my english and him asking what my native language was [ Its english Cheesy ]

comment: i read that letter, i really hope people with brains intact see all the BS written there. Worst crap ive ever read, and typical americans to react hysteric. When Janet Jackson showed her tit with a nipple on TV, people screamed up over there. Her tit could hurt their children.
(ah, it felt good to generalize for once).
Typical idiot from Europe, stereotyping everyone in America as a hysterical, uptight jerk. You probably have bad teeth and nasty armpit hair, too! Shut up and go eat your fish and chips!
See? You aren't the only one who can make retarded generalizations. lolol

WTF!?? Didn't i type i generalized? Do you think i HATE americans for beeing americans, then you're wrong!

I am from a small country with excellent standard, nobody have bad teeth here, hahaha. Your answer was very immature, of course i do
know many americans, and i even am related to some living in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington and California. My dad had many cousins. It seems to me that americans who have been outside America is much nicer than such people like you. It looks like USA is a very closed country, do you learn anything at all about Europe? I've met some americans who've said themself, that America "destroys" americans. Well, that's not my words, but i start to wonder if there might be any truth about it.  Of course everybody is talking about America when they start an illegal war in Iraq, and threaten other countries.

We're after all allied in NATO.

So you miserable kid, i neither eat fish nor chips, that's typical for UK,
i don't eat at McDonalds or Burgerking, i am an vegetarian. I don't HATE americans, i just dislike some of their attitudes of beeing a superheronation. the selfappointed leader of this world, this is very visible when it comes to Bush-supporters and war-supporters, even in my country, i am from Scandinavien, we have such crazy rightwingers who support the war here too.

Don't you ever dare to call me a jerk again! You have already lost when you are going that far to use namecalling as a solution in a debate, i didn't even know my comment, which was half joke, half serious would cause such strong reactions.
