61  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Baby Roaster Excluded From Ballot! ROCK THE VOTE! on: 2009 February 26, 17:15:18
Would they delete a thread asking to put the BBQ in the vote? That would be censorship. Deleting comments in a voting thread is a bit lame in this particular case, but not all that strange.

Never thought I'd see the day, but I agree with missangelica.

They're not being freaking nazi's about this. They explained why they didn't put it up for voting, then explained it again and again. Deleting the posts was a bit much, but then they explained why they did that as well. When is the last time you saw any debate and explainations on TSR? They just delete and to hell with what anyone thinks. The whole ZOMG-you're-JUST-like-them attitude is way over the top. You can disagree with their reasons but not with the way they handled it. The BBQ didn't fit with the child theme they had in mind. Anyone can see that and if you pretend you can't, you're grasping at technicalities, which I think is less than fair towards them.

MTS2 is far from being like TSR.

I have to agree on the tool theory.
This is classic TSR. They still think we're all about the shiny toys. ("Once we get the newest, shiniest toy in all the playground, they'll have to respect us and be our friends!") I don't think anyone there ever really understood that we don't give a crap about their cc, their creators, their shiny tools and their big boy friends. It's typical for them to think that we'll all want to be BFFs again when they have some exclusive tool or toy, because that's what they're like. They'll mooch of the biggest fish in the pond when they can and they simply can't imagine that for us and anyone who objects to their practises, it's a matter of principals and ethics.

I'll still be here (or if 'here' doesn't exist anymore, somewhere like it) long after EA and the paysites have a public orgy and go around town taking candy from babies and spitting in their cribs to celebrate we-love-shafting-children-day. TSR and other paysites aren't just illegal. They're also wrong. It's the second that offends me most.

It could be a sign that the really talented creators are just saying no to TSR FA recuitment drones and they simply have to make due with the ones who say yes. But this is frightfully optimistic and makes me a bit ill.

Oh, and I quit smoking today! Wink

Oh, you're not done crying yet.  Cheesy I'm about one month now and at the point where I would seriously concider GRILLING and EATING a goddamn baby if it meant I got to have a smoke. I wonder where I got that idea...

I mean... Good for you!

I only came over to see if Ayyuff being FA was a new thing.

Old news, but I haven't seen it in this thread yet, so:

We are always happy to welcome talented artists to our FA team, and ayyuff is no exception! She's a talented lot artist with an eye for details - be sure to check out her latest and upcoming lots. Give her a warm welcome in her guestbook!

How is that different from his movies?

I remember tje owner coming here with problems once before, but she talked to Pescado so I'm no really sure what it was about (that, and my memory is failsauce).

It's true that providers don't really care about the legalities and technicalities. Make a big enough stink and they'll pull any site. The balleet finger gets very twitchy.

I don't know. Every time thing go bad for them, they mention EA and how cool it is that they're BFF. Nothing much ever happens though.

We'll see, I suppose.

You know Darqstar, the only thing that leaves me scratching my head is, why hasn't he faked some 'evidence' already? TSRians are always screaming about how easy screenshots are to doctor, so why wait all these months? Coconut has always been associated with the pirates anyway.
71  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Prettiest Freesite Creation Find: Round Two (Apparently) on: 2009 February 24, 17:58:47
Well, there's 'inspired by' and then there's just slapping on a new wallpaper and calling it your own. I think that's just as bad as taking a mesh, slapping on a new textures and calling the result your own.
72  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Ugliest Paysite Creation Find: Round Two. on: 2009 February 24, 17:07:51
Those planets were at least okay for storytellers, but this stuff is just badly made. It confuses me. Questions of Why assault my head and rape my brain.
73  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Prettiest Freesite Creation Find: Round Two (Apparently) on: 2009 February 24, 17:00:00
Oh, that is just disgusting! And the original is so much better too.
74  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Your Prettiest Freesite Creation Find: Round Two (Apparently) on: 2009 February 24, 13:47:06
Poseboxes are for picture-taking only, they're no good for gameplay. To pose sims there's so much fiddling around with OMSPs, the invisible tray, pose boxes and so on that it's not even funny anymore. It'd really mess up gameplay too, because most pose boxes I've seen (especially the asian-made ones) lock a sim in place untill the pose is deactivated.
So yeah, pretty much useless for people who aren't into picture-taking, but a godsend for those who are.

By the way, check out the 'Asian sites and other' (or whatever it's called) in the sharing area at Simscave. There's at least 20 different pose boxes there and some of them are ridiculously good.
75  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: TSR Sharing your infomation! on: 2009 February 24, 13:17:51
Yes, i consider some pirates to be my friends. They make pay content available for free, but they are really nice persons

It's the but that bothers me.
'Yes, my friends do things I concider morally wrong, but I need them to uphold my appearance of being neutral, so we're cool.'

That leaves the same taste of shit in my mouth as "But all my friends are black people!"

I was an FA some years ago for a short period of time. I think it's been about 4 month or so with 3 sets published. I left TSR because me and TSR did not fit together good enough for me to stay there

So, the band split over creative differences? What does that even mean? Not that it matters in this discussion, but I'm curious.

I personally don't care a shit about an FAs creations being listed at the booty or not. I still think you don't have the right to do so, but it's not my game. And i won't condemn anyone for doing it, as you guys follow a different interpretation of the EULA than i do.

What the ho?
You just argued that you're too retarded to read and understand words. Congrats. You win at arguments.

Also, what Elphaba said.

I never intended to distract you from anything. I just thought (and still think) that publishing the pictures mentioned above went too personal, so i did post it. That's it. Didn't expect that such a discussion would follow.

I call bullshit.

PMBD: OMG Thomas tried to make money off a dying man! Outrage!
Solander: Dewd, you're being totally not cool. TSR has, like, rights and, stuff.

How the fuck is that not going to spell trouble? Either you're a shitstirrer or the case for you being retarded grows with every word you type (and apparently can't read nor understand. Bonus.) The fact that you haven't been here for ages and chose this moment to make a completely unrelated post about something that happened quite some time ago...

Do Ineed to finish that sentence?

I did also say to him that i wish TSR the best that they find the wholes in their system, if there is an external hacker attacking their system. This was an impartial statement, as i do not wish anyone (neither pirates nor pay nor free sites) to have an unwanted guest in areas where noone else should enter.

Dude, no. You can't do that. You came here and the first thing you said was that it'd be stupid to believe TSR can be hacked. You totally won me over. In retrospect, it was the only non-retarded point you made. Why you gotta take that away from me? Why you gotta make me slap you?  Angry

I did also talk to Anita yesterday evening. She told me some things about hackers etc. If i believe it, what i do believe or not is my decision. Just in case coconut also finds this information somewhere on the net. I don't feel ashame for it.

Translation: I'm retarded enough to believe Anita's hacker stories, even though they make no technical or logical sense.

I weep for humanity.

Not everyone, who is not 100% on your side, is automatically against you.

...

I have no words.
'I don't like what you're doing and think you're wrong all over the board, but that's totally cool by me.'
Did... did you just admit you're a spineless idiot wandering in No Man's Land, trying to decide which trench to dive in when the shooting starts? Because that's what that sounded like to me.

If you don't want me to take part in this discussion or any others at this board, just say so. It's perfectly ok for me, as it is your home and you got the right to tell any guest, if he should leave or not.

Okay. I don't want you to take part in this discussion or any others at this board. In fact, I want you to take a can of gasoline, pour it over your modem, strike a match and leave the internet alone!

Wow, that felt nice.

Oh, and before I draw the wrath of calalily... What the hell, woman? Of course we're going to be patient with this dude before coconut tells us he's a plant (in more way than one). It's just weird. He strated out all reasonable talking about hacking and why it wasn't happening and then he slowly got his retard on.

- Finally someone he seems to understand what a hacker is!
- Wait, he seems confused about this private data issue, let's give him some facts.
- Oh... he still doesn't get it. That's... weird, I suppose, but let's explain it again.
- Hm. Well. He doesn't sound like he's typing with his fists, so why does he come across as a complete neanderthal?
- *suspect severe brain damage*
- Coconut: I bringz yu truths!
- Cala: ZOMG YOU WERE NICE TO A SPY BURN PEASANTS!!!

Wut. Teh. Ho? What did I miss? This isn't like you. Much.

Oh, and to anyone who seems to believe that four or five pages of Solander being a thick tool is enough to make me forget al about Tom's whacky hijinks... I am not a goldfish.
