Soggy, I'm a little confused as to your argument about the US President getting the blame, when it's the Congress really in power - i.e. see above where you list Clinton's Republican Congress as wrong, wrong, wrong.  Under this logic that you hold to be true for Clinton - directly *negated* is your argument against the Bush administration which leaves under a Democratic Congress - a Dem Congress that voted against Freddie & Fannie being reigned in, mind you.  So - *your* logic holds as far as I can see that Republicans are evil, and Democrats are "the goodies."  Any argument holds as long as Dems are in the right??  Also - you DO know the history BEHIND the current economic crisis, right?  Please correct if I'm wrong - only going on previous correspondence...

Oh, and I left these political debates a while back because there was no way my ass WASN'T going to be handed to me - my being on the evil side of things and all, but what the Hell - I hate paysites, love what EVERYONE has done here on this phorum, and still have a right to free speech and all...  Wink  Don't get it in its entirety though - you DO know your fave guy won, right??  Why beat dead horses?  Why??

Also - just really tired of being quiet, quiet, quiet when I have certain feelings about how certain members here are free as hell to shout their opinions, and everyone else be damned - or shot down to the point of not returning.  Not the way I know PMBD.  Love it here, and need free speech to continue damn it.  I EXPECT to be shot down.  Can YOU accept it, in turn??

Off my damn soapbox.

Wouldn't it be true that you couldn't sue TSR because (a) EA is pretty noncommittal and (b) if you are giving money to them and they believe there is fraud on your behalf in the first place (being a pirate as you say that you are), then they can cut you off at any point anyway?  This is all beside the fact that they dick around with private info.  I'm sorry, but you & your friend should've researched what you were getting into when you decided to fund that POS site.

Also - "hackers shitbomb"ing them would be no better than what they do.  That ain't us.

Sorry you're personally upset about it - but there are several ongoing threads about TSR & I'm not sure this necessitates a new one.

There was an interresting news item on tv just now (in Holland).
About how in the USA, identity theft has become a more lucrative business than drugs trafficking and dealing.

This sounds like one of those "don't take a bath because you might DROWN!!111" local news stories. Do you have a link?

Banks in the U.S. take identity theft very seriously. It's still a big problem, but basically if you watch your credit card bills and report anything suspicious, you're not going to have your life ruined. Normally the worst that happens is a $50 charge, and even that's getting pretty rare. My father's credit card was stolen recently; he reported it the next day (though he should have done so immediately), and someone had already rung up over $2000 worth of charges on it. The charges were canceled and he was sent a new card. It took one phone call that lasted 10 minutes, most of it on hold.

If you publish something, presto, your name's online in JSTOR, Google Scholar, and myriad library sites throughout the world. If you want to be really "safe", don't use credit cards. Or get married. Or have kids, especially if you're a woman. Or go outside. And never, EVER get in a car.

I think Thomas and Steve are probably happy everyone knows they release customer information. That'll make people a lot more scared to go against TSR, after all. Since they're con artists, the morality of it doesn't enter into the equation. Like all con artists, they figure their "customers" are all a bunch of saps who deserve what's coming to them anyway.

Agreed - articles I've published are extremely easy to find and are under my maiden name, which we don't typically check regularly with the credit check companies.  It's extremely hard to stay anonymous anymore.  I have tried for months to get a public listing of my address taken off the internet with no results.  Outside of my little world, I'm no one - but my info springs up on various searches through past work/life experience.  Very frustrating when you enjoy seclusion, and the semi-anonymity of internet forums.  I don't think it's shocking that this is the latest crime wave in America.  This has been the case for years now, and credit card companies are offering more secure options for tracking your card usage (at a price, of course).

Agreed too - it won't ruin your life, but you have to resolve to keep on top of your finances & information.  I think especially when so many people found duplicate SSN's being used during this year's election.

You've hit it on the head there too - they WANT people to know they do these things.  It gives them the "power" so to speak.

TSR IS viral.  Epic win for sure.

So how easy would it be to post here at PMBD?  If not, I know for a fact that blogger has very loose rules as to what's posted there.

Snarky - Bwaaahahahaha!  So, I'm new to the journaling.  Insane Journal is strictly friend only, right?  If so, that would mean Coconuts goodies wouldn't get out to the rest of the community as easily.  Any other alternatives?

We've seen these in the past, but I thought Openhouse was worth another look...  This first poor son of a bitch appears to have crapped himself, but at least you can pay for your sim to wander Pleasantville in soiled skivvies.  The others... just woah.  (But the middle one IS free if that counts for anything...)

I'm a whore for the booty, esp. a hair whore - but I always find that items from free sites are my favorites in the game.  There's something to be said for people creating for the love of the game and the art involved - not cold, hard cash.

She definitely looks like she has been riden hard and put up wet.

I almost spit coffee all over my screen at this.  Totally made my day.   Cheesy

When you said shabby chic it reminded me of Pamela Anderson's house on cribs. I love this house:

Yikes!  It looks like 10 elderly cat ladies live there - but kind of in a cute way.  Weird.
