He knows perfectly well there is a lot on TSR that is already copyrighted being sold and it is against the law in many countries. Just ignore him.

Stupid nohead.

You want to get snarky about how your first language isn't English? Here's the gist of the matter rephrased for you.

YOU CAN NOT SELL SIMS 2 CONTENT.

IF A FILE NEEDS THE SIMS 2 GAME TO WORK, IT CAN NOT BE SOLD.

THE EULA PROHIBITS ANYONE WHO IS NOT EA GAMES FROM MAKING A COMMERCIAL PROFIT.

ONLY EA GAMES CAN CHARGE MONEY FOR SIMS 2 ITEMS. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO HAVE PAYFILES.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO RUN A PAYSITE.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO REQUIRE PEOPLE TO PAY FOR SIMS 2 STUFF.

YOU CAN NOT TAKE WHAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU AND SELL IT, NO MATTER WHERE THE MONEY ENDS UP.

YOU MAY NOT ASK THE SIMS 2 COMMUNITY FOR MONEY FOR ANY REASON IF YOU THEN GIVE THE PEOPLE WHO PAY SPECIAL SIMS 2 FILES.

STOP SELLING SIMS 2 FILES, HAVE THEM AVAILABLE FOR FREE, AND THAT WILL GET YOUR ITEMS OUT OF THE BOOTY.

Clear enough for you? Does it need to flash and marquee across the screen and set off embedded MIDI files to get through to you?

squidfingers lamps are on their way @ mts2

I swear I'm gonna ween myself off squidfingers soon...

Any chance of curtains or blinds in coordinating colours or curtains with a few Sim-inches of squidfinger patterns along the edges / borders? Not for making an entire room matchy-matchy, but because they coordinate with a lot of things I already have. I think even mixing two or three similar squidfinger patterns in a room would still look tasteful, depending on which patterns.

These were truly neat! (I sat and watched the animated GIF of the "magic" bedspread changing colour and pattern for a good twenty minutes. Shiny!)

Do you use the same username at MTS2? If not, can we have linkies when they are up at MTS2?

Hecubus, I am in awe of your FLW tribute. Gorgeous. I'm having problems downloading it, even on WiFi, though. Someone up there is trying to tell me my DLs folder is too big. Sad

Yes, you are right. I know about the discussion. And maybe it is a bad time for a "paysite". But this is not a "paysite", itīs for charity, and itīs a good idea anyway.
And I am honest - we WILL give away the money.
If you donīt believe us, ok, then do not donate.
But it is not ok to upload the files and destroy the whole project.

These files are not your property to sell, regardless of who or what gets the money.

You can't burn music CDs or game DVDs or steal your neighbor's petunias and sell them, even if the proceeds go to the most worthy cause on the planet.

You are illegally disregarding the EULA, which states clearly that commercial use of Sims-related files is forbidden.

If you wish to help charities, try going free, and posting links to charity sites and / or add this HTML to your site:

Code:

Those charities are sponsored by corporate donors, so visitors to your site can help various charities without coughing up any money for Sims 2 content that can not be legally sold.

Accepting money for EA's property is wrong. No amount of good intentions will change that.

Attempting to sell Linda Berkvist's art ("Enayla" made those skins) is also pretty reprehensible, and you would have defied her artistic intellectual property and ignored her Terms Of Use a lot longer if someone hadn't caught you in the act and made it public knowledge.

No excuses.

Netseeker, we welcome you.

We are very pro-creator here. You guys make the game more fun.

We actually use "destroy" in a tongue in cheek fashion: we actually want sites to be liberated and to go free, and will help those who ask for help.

On the other hand, if the girl from Firestarter was lurking here at PMBD, I suspect that TSR's servers would have been melted down into smoking slag puddles by now. Frankly, I would celebrate if TSR were actually destroyed, but it is the only site I feel personal animosity towards.

There have been too many tales from creators who were abused, or had their creations held for ransom. Creators who had to pay to access their own work, and who could not get it removed without getting EA to intervene. There are too many tales of "intrigue" and two-faced politicking and censorship.

TSR lies about the EULA, and lies only to keep the gravy train chugging along. TSR lies and claims we have no documentation from EA that proves that paysites are defying the EULA and engaging in illegal activities. TSR talks to Maxoids (who are no longer involved in the legality or EULA or policy of The Sims, because MAXIS is now owned by EA, thus EA's rules apply, not Maxis' rules) and since they are out of the loop and contradict each other, they only post what seems to support their claims that they have every right to use EA's tools, free toys made by pro-freesite creators, copyrighted logos / brand names / works of art / textures / photographs / characters / businesses / celebrity images / more,  and Poser (etc) meshes that belong to other people to milk money out of the gullible sheeple.

The EULA is clear. The bandwidth excuse loophole is over. No commercial profit can be made off of the Sims. To make a buck is to defy the EULA, and even IF the EULA changed, you still agreed to the base game EULA and other SP/EP EULAs. Making a profit off of EA's intellectual property, or with files that require the Sims game engine to function is VERBOTEN, and no amount of weaseling around changes that fact.

Paysites are a bloodsucking plague, and TSR is the biggest tick of them all. The fact that they abuse their creators and fuck around with earnings and ratings and other stats to avoid even sticking to their own illegal, fucked-up business model and delete / censor posts and monitor IPs and PMs and lurk over here, hoping to find someone else to punish or ban or block just makes them more clumsy and nasty than most.

Thieves! Liars! The need to be burninated with extreme prejudice. Only the most stupid site would actually bite the hand that feeds, and who is making the big bucks for TSR? Creators.

Of course, the good news is that the more desperate they get, and the worse their abuse becomes, the better we "pirates" can feel about it, because it shows that PMBD is sending them into Aspiration Failure. Sorry, can't cry too hard about that.

In fact, this calls for more rum! *shares*

But, hey, what doesn't call for rum? Rum is good! Rum for everyone!

Which group was it that has a guy with his hair done up like a big swan?  I think I saw them on some "I love the 80's" episode on VH1 awhile back.
.

I hate to say it, but you really need to be more specific when you mention bad hair and the 1980's!

My first guess, however, would be a member of A Flock of Seagulls.

She's incredibly pathetic and attention-starved.

Mental illness or not, this is just ridiculous.

If anyone feels the need to buy into her need for drama and attention, go ahead, every good kitty needs a catnip mouse to bat around and chew on, but my personal policy is DO NOT FEED THE MENTALLY ILL, TROLLS, OR DRAMA WHORES.

Her desperate attempts to keep the focus on herself are sad. Wonder what disease, death, or fake drama she will cook up next? Hasn't she run out of relatives to kill off YET? Or diseases to claim she has? Or new and interesting ways to air protestations of "spying" and "trolls" to complain about when 99% of the members of each of her new groups are alternative identities of her own?

The "not less than or equal error" is probably NVidia-related. Geek Squad installed the wrong drivers for my NVidia card and it spammed up blue screens and RAID disk failure errors (!!) until the drivers were corrected.

Don't know if this will help you, but it may give you a place to look.

Try Major Geeks, they are good at defucking computers.

Also, if your machine is a lappy, try to get your driver from the laptop manufacturer, not NVidia.

Make sure no one has put the wrong drivers on your machine, that's my advice. If you're running XP, and some tard puts a Vista-specific driver on your rig (*cough cough* Geeks Squad n00bz! *cough*), it will spawn some of the errors you're mentioning. Sometimes driver sites are not helpful about clearly defining which OS they are configured for, so it can be an innocent mistake, and one that is fairly easy to fix.

We are happy to welcome refugees from crazy sites here! Welcome to Hope, Fee, Smithy, Worship, Rebekah, and anyone else who feels the need to vent.

We love our free site people, and we REALLY love free creators. You are welcome to share the rum, and to discuss or not discuss whatever you like.

Read the FAQ, hang out, learn how to walk around with a parrot on your shoulder. YARR!

SMB was one of the first places I visited as a new Sims 2 player back in January. As I said in an earlier post, I thought smithy and Katy were BFFs (Best Friends Forever), and apparently I wandered off before most of the drama-rama occurred. I remember the first "oops, we're down, need a new host" drama, though. Ugh. I posted some Law and Order Sims there. Even got a few encouraging pats on the head. SMB had many good points.

I left not because of drama but because I am on dialup, and loading all the sparklies and slashies and badges and enormous signature files and four hundred ThanksThisIsGreat posts took forever. Appreciation and rewards are all swell, but it was a bit OTT (Over The Top) for me. If everything gets showered with praise, bad or good, then the really amazing stuff doesn't stand out. True talent reveals itself over time.

Anyway, I am sorry to hear about Katy going cuckoo. I didn't know the woman, but she was always polite to me on the rare occasions I exchanged comments. (When she responded at all, of course, which, being a busy gal, I did not expect her to do.)

No fandom is without its crazies. It gets mind-boggling after a while. If you can't think of anything that people could possibly take exception to and get mad about, it doesn't matter, because someone WILL surprise you by being offended by SOMEthing.

I think Solfal is Swedish.

And I have to say that I didn't find that toy pirate offensive at all. Of course it  probably stems from the fact that in Scandinavia/Europe kids shooting each other is a pretty non-existant problem, so I can see why she thought the shooting pirate would be a cute idea.

Doesn't bother me, either.

It's a pixel toy in a pixel game shooting non-lethal projectiles at a pixel child. No actual harm or violence is being done to anyone real. Just seems like there are worse mods and far more violent gameplay in other games available.

Heck, there are multiple gun / weaponry mods for Sims that actually do injure Sims.

And most of us are guilty of removing pool ladders from time to time. Smiley

I'm more bugged by the fact that TSR wants money for it.
