The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Ea makes statement March 2 making paysites ok?

EA and the official site just baffle the hell out of me. This post... well, it doesn't make any sense. "The EULA hasn't changed, but if you want to break it we're okay with that"? I can only assume that EA isn't okay with people ARRR-ing their games... so only SOME kinds of EULA-breaking activity is acceptable?
I can also only assume the higher ups at EA didn't know this was going to be stated. Otherwise, well, wouldn't they just change the EULA to include paysites? And honestly, I am still confused as to why it is even in EA's interest not to stompinate paysites into the ground. They are competing with EA. If gamers only have so much money to put towards the game and they're already subscribing to, say, T$R, why would they go to the Sims Store? (Or whatever they're calling it these days.)
Seriously, I have no idea what they are trying to do with this post.

That hair is almost exactly like a hair Ulkrhsn @TSR has made. Not that it is any less uglier, but Peggy just copied her. Both versions are horrible anyway!
It is also nearly identical to a mesh made by Guppy Sims long ago. They were free, but I believe it was later revealed that they also took poser meshes. Probably explains where Peggy's came from. I think somebody at MTS2 recently did a recolor of it, actually... A-ha! Found it.

The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Baby Roaster Excluded From Ballot! ROCK THE VOTE!
|

I understand why people are comparing MTS2 with TSR, but I also feel its a bit unfair.
I think deleting the comments about the babyroaster were unfair. My comment was not mean, I did not demand. I said, counted or not, I wanted to vote for the baby roaster on the basis of its quality. So yes, I'm miffed at MTS2.
However, being miffed doesn't justify calling them another TSR. TSR is far worse. TSR may edit comments, but that's not what most people think of when they think of TSR lately. TSR is under fire for a lot of reasons that MST2 has never done and (hopefully) never will. Delphy has not shared private information, he has not tried to exploit a dying person, as far as I know he has not made people sign a sacred oath before they can enter certain parts of the site.
Since I was one of the people comparing MTS2 and TSR, I think I should probably clarify, though of course I can't speak for anybody else. I don't think MTS2=TSR. I was upset that they felt the need to delete comments that were on topic, politely written, and did not break any explicitly stated rules, an unnecessary tactic TSR seems fond of utilizing. However, that's where the similarities end in my eyes. As you pointed out, MTS2 has never pulled any of the number of terrible stunts TSR has pulled.

Man, it's a good thing Pescado is so on top of things. I can't believe all these increased attacks on freesites that have been happening... if I didn't already hate paysites, this would definitely push me there.

The votes were all deleted by Delphy. No fair.
Has MTS2 been taking lessons from TSR?? Exactly what I said over at MATY! I absolutely detest TSR, and the day MTS2 turns into that site I am never looking back. What would have been so difficult about putting the babby roaster up on the vote and disabling the comments anyway? I mean, they already let him post the thing.

I've come to the conclusion EA hates us. They just lurves our monies. Unfortunately, I don't think that's far from the truth. However, today is a celebratory day-- congratulations Blacky's Sims 2 Zoo! *throws confetti* I would also love to send them a congratulatory e-mail, but sadly do not speak German.

I really have to wonder if she thought this one through, because surely the people who willingly donated money to the forum are going to be more likely to become anti-paysite now that she's shown paysite owners to be incredibly self-centered and greedy. Maybe someone should thank her for helping us out. Anyway, I did have an account at the forum (though I didn't post much) and did my part in leaving an appropriately angry message in her guestbook. I hope she has fun reading them all.

Those textures are a vast improvement- they make the mesh look good!
I wonder why peggy, xm and rose don't just use Nouk or Legion textures already? They know that's what simmers already do to all their hair anyway. They'd have to be living under a rock not to know this.
Their textures are just fugly and to pretend otherwise is downright insulting. Okay, charging for their stuff is insulting. The textures just salt the wound.
Probably because that comes dangerously close to admitting that there are free creators who do a better job at creating than pay sites. At least for Rose and Peggy. Conversely, they could just be really lazy and arrogant (not including XM, that is.)

The TSR chess thing is by Callisto who has long ago left TSR and is now a mod/admin at Natural Sims... I know its horible, but I don't think TSR will let her get rid of it.
Thanks for letting me know... I changed the picture.
