This reminds me, when I was a teen...you know, all EMO and stuff, I used to save my tears in a bottle. *snort*
I found it a couple years ago. BOY oh boy did that thing smell BAD.

I can't tell you how glad I am that I grew up before the emo craze - it fills me with joy everyday, so I don't have to look back and see that sort of stuff.  *Loves being old (RELATIVE to all of you who know how old I am, and will say in the next post "Well if that's old I'm ancient").

That they left with little drama, and no front page rants is a new one - but they don't tell us first.  Are you imagining scenarios where they contact Pescado and tell him - look - I'll be closing in a couple of weeks, please come buy my shit? Cause that ain't happening.

That is the saddest, most emo thing I've ever heard. Oh my god is that bad.
I'm cracking up at the thought of it.
I'm sorry, I just had to reply to that because it's just so goddamned funny!

It's so bad.

I KNOW I'm older than you, Cala, and I distinctly remember painting my room black, wearing black clothes, being fascinated with vampires, listening only to AC/DC and Black Sabbath, thinking my parents were evil and stupid, loving a guy who was a "poet" whose poetry nobody understood (I know now that is because it was bad emo poetry) and believing that the world was coming to an end because of the Viet Nam war. I also cried at the drop of a hat. And didn't want anyone to look directly at me. Plus I had the added bonus grievance of being black and under the thumb of "The Man."

If that ain't emo, I don't know what it is. But we called it Typical Teenage Angst. It's a phase. Thank goodness. Like horse-love when you're 9.

That isn't 'emo', sparkle.  Don't you know emo is a new thing and none of us old people would ever understand? You were probably chronologically closer to goth (though from the sound of it, a bit before goth even), but with much different music. I was pretty much the same way, except my taste in music ran to The Cure, Depeche Mode, NIN, Sisters of Mercy, and anything else I could cry to.

I just never really outgrew it, and I am still terribly emotional. >.>

A whois can be very useful, if you want to know where to send the hate mail for example, but doesn't tell us a lot of useful information in this case. The domain does appear to be locked, but that doesn't really tell us why or what's going on. Also, that's dangerously close to exposing personal details on the forum which is not really encouraged (though yes, anyone can go look it up).

Wow.. Miss Angelica is back :D

Nothing agaisnt crying, nothing agaisnt people's musical tastes/preferences. What I have a problem is with an emo girl crying her eyes out because we've sold out of issue 2 of the Umbrella Academy.
And then looking at me and treating me like I just told her I sodomised her mother while her little brother watched.

It happens too often. And with the same comics.
With 500 different girls/boys. Who all look the same.

Its like the upmost definition of sheepie.

Thats my two cents.. Im leaving it there!

I had bad 80s clothing circa 13 - I had a Boy George outfit.   And 80s hair was really easy as my hair is naturally really curly (I am older now, and force it into submission  :P )

Oh, I did that - wearing black (blue jeans entered my wardrobe about 4 years ago) listening to Metallica and Henry Rollins.  I preceeded the gothic trend here, and was what was known as "swampie" - which was a lot more down to earth (and I might say a great deal less expensive - I know gothics who spent $900 on a pair of boots for gods sake) than the later gothic and emo trends. I never did the emo things of keeping my tears in a jar, and other stupid shit you have to admit to - for which I am eternally grateful.

And Harlock should henceforth be considered King of Redundant Knowledge that everyone knows, that is no use, and has no relevance, but is greatly condescending and stupid.

There was always something more in the metal/goth/alternateen stuff than there is with emo, imo. Emo also seems to be a lot more commercial and polished, which adds to my annoyance with it.

I never wore all black or permed my hair or was otherwise part of any trend.  Unless "band geek" was ever a trend .

That's what gets on my nerves - the commercialism.  Most of those "trends" were anti-commercialism.  Now they've been co-opted by commercial sellers - and adds to my annoyance.  Not that I'm saying emos are bad people - they're just teens - but all of teenage-hood seems commercial now.

Band geek - you now have American Pie.

Of course now most of my friends in high school are in jail or OD'd so maybe that wasn't as cool as it seemed back then.  :(

I am currently the "normal" girl that sits with the "weird" group. I take out group name as a complement, as all the other girls in my grade are sluts and whores you get drunk every weekend, get high and sleep with as many guys (and girls!) as possible.

What a charming, private all-girl catholic school I attend

Title: Adult-Sims is dead?
Post by: Tchannie on 2008 January 03, 13:21:54
Me, I'm the girl with permed red hair (because it looks better on me than my natural pin-straight), all in black, wearing band/sword/dragon/faerie t-shirts and black trousers that AREN'T jeans (though I own a lot of pink, too. My friend once asked me why I'm emo and don't look it. I just smiled, and proceeded to wear a non-emo band t-shirt the next day). I used to hang out with the goths and emos, but they all (but two) left last year. I now look like the oddball in a group of almost-chav normal people.
I have only ever claimed to be half-emo, but I've reached the stage where people either tell me I am or I'm not (the latter usually with the stereotyping of "you don't slit your wrists! you can't be emo!").
I guess I'm a normal angry, pessimistic, all-in-black, alternative music taste (aka, I like almost everything music-wise) teen.

It's okay Jess. My best friend, the almost chav that she is, attends an all-girls' school. It's not the Catholic one we have, but close. Her school is full of sluts who get drunk all the time (she is included, minus the "slut" bit, bless her). In the Catholic all-girls school, however, they're all obsessed with getting pregnant and lowering the sex age, and fixing abortion rights.
That's ALL they're interested in.
I'm so glad I go to a mix-gender school!

My grade is really, really sad. We're infamous since we're the worst year to go through my school and the soon-to-be class of '09 is below the State average in English. We're a bunch of slutty dumb-fucks who get drunk and high every weekend.

I say "we" as a general "we", not me and my friends

I graduate NEXT YEAR! Heehee I'm so stoked 8)

I played trumpet in elementary school. I probably would have become a full-fledged band geek if I'd continued playing. Sadly, my trumpet career ended in middle school when the orchestra class I wanted to attend was already full.
I was devastated.

My trumpet still sits in my closet, unused to this day.

I played flute in band in elementary school, but had to give it up in middle school because band and chorus was at the same time (I was in chorus from 1st through 12th).  I still play keyboards from time to time and hubby plays guitar.  Can I be in, too?

Title: Adult-Sims is dead?

OK, so since I was so emo and dramatic, of course I played the guitar and the piano, so I could turn up my nose at those of my fellow scholars who had portable band instruments. Besides, if you play the guitar you can look more sad and depressed.

Oh, we had to be in marching band if we wanted to be in the regular band. I was enough of a geek that I was a squad leader junior year, when normally only seniors were squad leaders. We had to wear polyester uniforms and hats with big ol' phallic plumes on them.

I was in band from 5th through 12th grade, then I did 2 years of the orchestra for non-music majors in college. I should pick it up again. I need a new flute though.

My flute is in desperate need of repair too. I hated those polyester uniforms, itchy and very hot.  I hope to get a saxophone one day and learn to play it just because I want to.  I love learning to play new instruments.  Stupid me sold my clarinet years ago and want to get another one, someday.

Hehe. You know why it smelled so bad? Because, in addition to all the bacteria that has been incubating in that bottle, tears are diluted urine.

I've played flute for six years, and I started piccolo last year. I think I'm partially deaf in my right ear lol.

I have refused to join marching band every year, because I do Nutcracker and selling your soul to two things is kind of hard. :P

Chick, you don't wanna know what we got up to at church camp! Lower the  shocked eyebrows, people, where do you think I learned some of my former smoking habits!? This one involves three bags of stash, a bonfire and the preacher that almost caught us all... to escape detection when we heard him coming, singing along the trail as was his habit, we threw the evidence into the fire. As we all know, smoke always follows the non-smoker and no matter where that poor man sat, he got a face full. Needless to say, he spent lots of time running to the snack bar that night! I would say that it had been a waste of good weed, but it was so much fun to see him cut loose like that.... And some of the songs he taught us that night... Does my cranky heart some good to remember that, it does!

Gee, thanks for that.  I could have went the rest of my life without that info.

*bows*
Glad to be of service.

Both sweat and tears basically consist of the same things as urine, but of course they are much more diluted. That is also the reason why both sweat and tears taste salty. :D

Good God NO! Ew-eth, that's disgusting. I always get tears in my mouth when I cry!   I would have LOVED to go about my life without that info...

You get shit in your mouth when you eat too - it either eventually becomes your own shit, or the plant is nourished by shit (optional animal eats it in the middle) and then you eat it.

Shiteater.

Considering that the amount of stuff that's in urine makes up a massive list makes this not so shocking (I'm surprised that I didn't see the words "...and the kitchen sink" when I looked it up. ). However, I would think the main reason that tears and sweat taste salty, and urine is likely to, although I can't say I've ever tasted it (which would be gross), is because all three contain lots of water and lots of salt.

Yeah, that's the reason. :D

I remember being a bit shocked when I read that as a teen in my biology book, but I've since then become accustomed to the idea.

Other disgusting facts: Do you know what scents really are? They a molecules that are released to the air from the original object you are smelling. For example, when you are smelling the scent of a rose, you are actually inhaling rose molecules. And when you are taking a dump, you are inhaling... Well, you know. ;)

And methane, but that's different kettle of fish.

Changed the font size because I do not want Jess and Keirra to be too upset... :D

I learned that in 10th grade biology, and forty years later, I still think about that when I go into a public restroom where someone has neglected to do a Courtesy Flush.

It's why I got an apartment where the toilet is in a different room than the sink.  So my toothbrush is safe from the butt molecules.

Thankfully we have one of those stretchy mirror things that is sttached to the side of the shower that my bf uses to shave. So he can do it in the shower. Less mess that way.

I am a neat freak and my bf has a slight case of OCD....can you imagine my house?

Yeah that's right... freaking scary...I've been known to follow my cat with a dust buster during Summer. Poor thing!

No you aren't.  You're twelve.  Follow the rules!

I just drink water.  I don't drink fruit juice, soda, alcohol, baby blood, ink, paint, &c.  Just water.  =P  I like to EAT fruit, though.

The amount of underaged binge drinking in my area is insane, but I suppose living in North Dakota leaves one with little to do.  My stalker and I are pretty boring people--no drinking, no drugs.  Though I suppose we like knowing what happens to our time, not revealing sekrits because our defences have been compromised, and not being sickeningly lovey-dovey around people.

Because we do that already while sober.

 :P

I don't smoke, I drink every so often, but really you just can't help it in this bloody country. Everyone drinks, I think it's a hidden subject in school.

But juice rocks. Go juice!
