When I first saw this, I thought that it looked like a deformed penis. Bah. And I don't want to even go into the crotches on these things.

That lamp has two shape(s), two hardware(s), AND it's approved by Lamp Law '09? Now that's what I call quality, people! And I lol'd at the painted-on undies. Edited to add: Has he been burned or bitten by a shark?

If ever I open a Victorian themed strip club it most certainly will be called Victoria's Funnel. It might take the "ladies" quite a bit of time to remove all those layers of clothing but, hey, I'll probably end up selling more drinks that way.

Ah, but one of the secrets of Victorian bawdy houses is that they didn't wear panties or pantalettes. (In fact that was pretty ususual until about the 1850 in most of Europe and the US.) That's the reason that they kept trying to ban the Can-can. It may not look like much because in modern movies and recreations they have them wear bloomers or, even now censors wouldn't pass it in most of the US.
And Dot is a pervert.

Hm... Dot's slipping backwards. She also needs to map better. The texture is stretched on some of those and it's obvious. I've seen lamps similar to those (parents are ga-ga about all antiques, so I've been exposed to that stuff all my life) and she has the delicate flowers around that part correct, but they would not be stretched. They would have been hand painted on.
I don't get the lamp chimneys either. They're supposed to be clear. If she wants them to be modern lamps, she should have made them clear, then put a "shade" over them, usually of a white, non transparent glass, also hand painted to match the base.
The Chimneys can come in different colors, although usually clear was the most common, because if the lamp was an oil lamp, you wanted to let out as much light as possible. But even if they came in colors, they were clear.
A good kerosene lamp, with the wick trimmed properly, can shed just as much light as an electric lamp. When we first moved into our place, we lost our power every time the wind blew. (found out later that the lines had never been redone since the house had electricity put into it. The only reason why we were updated was because they switched to a lot of fiber optics) We had a lot of kerosene lamps and we could light up the house to the point where we'd sometimes have a neighbor knock and say, "How come you have electricity when we don't?" We also used to put mirrors behind them, to double the effect.
Sometimes I miss those days. While it was annoying to lose power, there was something very cozy about sitting down with lantern light and talking or playing cards, instead of watching TV or being on the computer.

Let me laugh my ass off at the pseudo Templars Uniform- you know you suck when the EA store does something better than you and their Templar outfit is more realistic - those are underwear - not armor-

Dot's lamps always look like they are made of cheap white plastic, just cheap & tasteless. I would use an antique kerosene lamp every day rather than use a cheap crappy lamp like she makes Dot, if you are only going to make one thing at least attempt to make it good!

Yep, I agree DOT is slipping. I looked threw her stuff. She use to have some cute ideas. The tree house light, the cat in the tree, the giant crayon and the plants that are lights... now it seems she is pumping out these uncreative, lower quality lamps. Typical TSR FA, they go for quantity not quality. If Dot was smart she would revisit some of her older stuff and expand on that....but she is too busy whining in her blog and faking screen shots.
