Well, the April 9 featured dress isn't....well...isn't as bad as some. The little lake applet probably helps it.

But what horrifies me is that the MEAT SLAB DRESS was the BEST SELLER for March.

I am sad to say, in the interest of comedy, I did contribute to that. Makes me wonder how many others did it for the same reason....

As for Atwa sticking to her theme with stale creations that have all the appeal of a paper cut in the first place? Do not ever forget for a moment you are all speaking of an incredibly stupid person.  A person that emits more stupid in one second than our entire galaxy emits in a year. In other words don't expect her to come up with anything remotely intelligent. Afterall the clever ideas suggested in the previous posts actually require talent...

Gee, AnneBonny, tell us how you REALLY feel. Don't hold back now!

What I do find interesting is that more and more FAs seem to be dropping off...not updating...leaving...asking for changes in status. And there seems to be an elevated sense of paranoia....as though they're about to implode.

Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I fantasize about TSR going up in a flaming ball of gas you can see from space.
873  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / LMAO off at Vita Sims "donation" celebrity heads.. on: 2007 April 06, 00:31:00
I may be mistaken (it happens), but didn't Vita make some really GOOD celebrity heads for TS1? Just goes to show that expertise in one game does not correlate to expertise in another.

Well, gawrsh, let me run to go get my checkbook right NOW!

As long as you're offering, I've got some medical bills piling up....and I'm too drugged out to come up with my own email scam.

But seriously: Doesn't this seem to be getting more and more....elaborate? There's a part of me that wonders if this is ALL a major scam....and that "Nathan" isn't even real. How do we know this $2K+ charge even EXISTS? All we've seen in the way of apparent proof is 'paperwork' from Delphy. Hell, I can make fake invoices. And I can send emails/make posts from several different IP addresses...right from my own computer. I can even change my manner of writing to approximate two different voices. Things are just not adding up right here...all the way around.

My trusting nature is quickly giving way to utter cynicism.

Noukiesims sounds like a pornsite! That's way cooler!

And Hecubus sounds like a Spawn of Satan....

...although it's just really a character from The Kids in the Hall. Not a devil at all, really....just "EVIL!"

Jojoba, you're the best. Thanks for the links! I can see now why Nouk suggested we'd beat this dead horse...I just wasn't clued into this one at all to even make heads or tails of Nouk's reference.

But I am now.....

<sigh>

What a strange sense of self-importance. Seems my little rant at Ameliyja (or whatever it was) makes more sense for this ...character.

Okay.....now I'm off to find threads about ReligioSims....as I seemed to have missed that entirely.

Why are we following her around again? Nothing she does is interresting, unless you like to view the largest ego on the net.

I don't know much about her other than what I see on her site; I'm not even sure who "she" is. Please remember that even though people like me have played the game for years, we've not necessarily been involved in the community for very long.

Nouk, your comment now has me even more curious: what IS the issue regarding this person and her ego?

Thanks.
879  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / i want the my crew mates opinions... on: 2007 March 28, 21:55:33
i don't think it's an oxymoron, but I do think it's wildly subjective.

For instance, I love Reflex Sims...pay and free items...but I know others find it borks their game. I also like Stylist, Birgit43, and Vita, but again, others may not.

Truly: the best way to know is to try some of a site's free stuff. If it works well in your game and you like the look, give the pay stuff a try. I DO encourage you to put them in a subfolder in your Downloads until you decide, though...saves trouble finding it to throw away if you decide it sucks.

THis thread has become an interesting experiment in psychology...particularly the psychology of personal investment.

I unfortunately know the story first-hand: a hobby becomes all-encompassing, people begin to rely on you, and suddenly you feel irreplaceable, or worse yet, obligated to people...and if you fail, the whole thing will crumble. And the truth is, whether you are there or not, things will continue on. And you begin to hate it, feeling like everyone's expectations surrounding this hobby is your personal responsibility. (MANY a non-profit organization has ebbed and flowed with the machinations of people like this...why do you think there are so many community theaters? )

After time, you realize that the hobby/charity/organization you were involved in is NOT meant to be joyless, and obligations go out the window.

So...I don't believe 'obligation' comes into gaming. Sure, a sense of personal responsiblity (such as doing the best cc you can do, putting your best foot forward in site design, modding competently so that items don't bork your fellow gamers' games, effectively helping others with complete tutorials, etc.), but OBLIGATION? If I'm ever obligated to anyone in this gaming community, I have bigger problems than worrying that the members of a forum are bitching about me.

Now if you owe someone money over a game, you have an obligation to pay up. But that obligation is personal, not related to the game/game cc. If you can't afford certain aspects of the game, you find other ways to make it work (free hosting sites, free FTPs, sites happy to take your work, like MTS2).

But 'obligation' in a hobby smacks of self-iimportance without an equally strong sense of joy.

I'm a pirate here - and I have a responsibility to do what I commited to do. My only obligation is to quit gracefully when it is no longer fun.

...wonder what's she's up to. Unless she got that illegal email from Universal as well and this is the best she could do for reaction.

Built is now available for free.  Why?  It's one less hassle I have to deal with.  I refuse to beg for donations (I generally don't trust those who do) so the others will remain paysets for now.  [I deleted 12 lines of text here about how dumb people are giving their money to people who beg without proof of need and about the necessity of payfiles since I'm considered a paysite] In any event, laziness has won out over my sense of principle and integrity so here's one more free set for the site.  Less work for me, more stuff for you Smiley

885  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Emilies Back In Business....Again on: 2007 March 26, 03:19:31
I'm always amazed at how stupid people like Emilie think we are. Of course, if you're stupid, you probably think everyone is on the same level.

On the other hand, TSR is exactly where someone like this belongs...she's perfect for them. May her wish to become an FA (even though she said she was no longer making cc for TS2 <smirk>) come true.
