Before we all get excessively paranoid, I just thought the "tracking device" was some sort of string included in the zip and/or package file to help identify the downloader? Like a few characters? Even if I did know the full details, which I don't, not being a booty god, I wouldn't be so happy to dissect it here - TSR people read here, and I don't think that we should be helping them figure out how to stop us. I'm not dissecting anything, I'm just pointing out the obvious--that a backdoor is not going to come through a package file. It's common sense. So scanning for malware/viruses would be a waste of time and excessively panicky. It's not going to stop their "methods" (real or imaginary), and of course you're not going to find anything. Now, you might very well have picked up something nasty from their ads, but that's another story. |

TSR would be very good at finding things out. They already check the time on the files and stuff but we have found a way around that. It is safe to guess that they are going to keep trying.
Check your files for spyware if you feel the need. It wont hurt.

I mean, we've already got the segregation, between the pro-paysite people and the free-for-all people - it's like the Berlin Wall all over again.
