1  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: Look at what I made and om nom nom it! (Post your creations pt. 2) on: 2009 July 24, 02:05:05
I felt guilty that I've been snatching so many goodies from this thread.  I thought should give back somehow.

I shortened XM Sims 97, hacked at the bangs, and Nouked them.

Final product:

Anyone interested?  It's my first alpha edit, so if anyone has critiques I'm all ears.

I think it looks a lot better than the original (just a more natural feel; and I think you re-textured it well) and I'd love to have it if you're offering Cool The original is very nice, but I much prefer this one for my own uses.

Guys, have you learned nothing? I can't screen shot right now. Here is a quote.
Quote
TSR: Accusations, Lies, Bullying?
TSR BS is too long to quote D:
XD I was all over the pick-apart but thought I'd leave it to members more experienced with TSR's crap. Instead, I patiently wait for Johan to attempt to refute your comments, since the part after that (where Pirate's logic>TSR's fail) is the best =D

Quote from: TSR
If our information is correct we actually know who she is, and given that she once wanted desperately to be an FA at TSR but didn't get it, we think it explains quite a lot about her bitterness towards us, don't you?

So show the proof.  And why is "she" still having access.

We are still investigating it and until we are done we don't want to put out any names. Pieces are falling into place though.

XD That's some good detective speak right thur.

Anyway, I just wanted to add my two cents. I've used the Booty for some things, the vast, vast majority of them -not- TSR items, so I'm not exactly Enemy Numero Uno. Most things I've downloaded from the Booty, I believe, are meshes; I've never pirated any game and/or movie, and I never have an intention to. So, I was beyond insulted to read "it's in their nature." So, because I support the EULA, and am a member of a forum that supports the EULA, you'll try to define me in a negative way? I'm so sorry that, since I don't make a profit off of other players work, and disagree with their interpretation of a legal document, I'm now a thief. Personally, call me a Pirate, I don't care--it's a compliment around here; but don't try to act as if we're all bad people and that's just our 'nature' because we support the Booty.

Also: "This is the game EULA and does not relate to custom content tools which have their own EULA."
Wait... I'll be the first to admit if I'm wrong if you'll correct me, but don't all CC and its' creators have to bow down before the EULA, regardless of their own TOU's? So, doesn't this statement (at least to me) sound as if TSR is placing individual players' terms above the terms of EA (since most 'custom content tools' were not created by EA)? But then again, they'd need to do that in order to get away legally with making money off CC, wouldn't they?

And what's with the punctuation errors? Why can't TSR--a "professional company"--learn how to use their commas and ellipses?

Whatever, it just sounded like they're trying to cover their tracks and all. I hope more users begin to see through TSR's BS. I never even had a thing against TSR, just paysites in general, until this cute little letter you all posted. (And you are MADE of win, SnarkyShark).

Not to mention that in most States here in the good old US, anything that can be used to administer illegal drugs--hookahs included--are illegal.

Uh... where would this be? Don't get me wrong, I think our drug laws are nuts, but I've never lived anywhere hookahs are illegal. I doubt New York, Michigan and Florida are all particularly enlightened about this. There was one shop I remember in Michigan with "for tobacco use only" plastered everywhere, that also sold incense, New Age music, pro-pot bumper stickers, etc. Cheesy
I know in Illinois it isn't illegal, there are hookah bars all over the place (though I never partake, my sister does); honestly, I'm not pro-hookah for the simple reason that studies show it's even worse than smoking cigarettes. But just as I don't go around preaching to smokers, I don't preach to hookah-users xD; That would be silly: their life, their decisions; and all those 100+-year-olds who cite a cigar everyday as their health tip could disagree with my decision to not smoke.

Because the economy is so bad, California (gov. Arnold) is considering legalizing and taxing marijuana. hmmm
In Washington state, police are no longer persecuting simple pot offences, because they can't afford it.
But in Tennessee, where I live, the pot laws are very strict. They will ruin your life over a roach in the ashtray, and head shops are few and far between. Here, smoking is a 'sin'. You have to go to Georgia or Kentucky to find anything close to a hookah. I hate the close-minded attitudes about pot in this state.

"The laws against it are completely arbitrary. It's a plant that grows out of the ground, naturally, and if it should happen to catch on fire......there may be some side effects." - Katt Williams
That sucks that you can get in that much trouble in Ten.; everyone I knows who's gotten caught gets a slap on the hand. Just two days ago a girl I know got two weeks Loss Of Privileges (basically, she gets detention for half of her lunch for two week) for being caught high during first period. And I know a girl's boyfriend who got charged with posession and his mom just sent him to boarding school; I think he was in jail for, er, 12 hours?

And please forgive me if I'm wrong (I won't even pretend like I've studied California law), but isn't marijuana already legalized for medical purposes? I remember a government teacher telling us that it didn't matter, though, because federal law prohibited it, and that's above state law. Honestly, though, I feel like the government isn't going to send in the military to close down a group of college teens chilling out with some pot. Kinda silly that if they're not going to crack down on Arnold's plan (should it go through), they still have the nerve to call smoking pot illegal.
(And the Katt Williams quote was golden.)
