Maybe we could do a Google bomb or something. Anything.  Just get tsr out of the top spot.  Then again I know nothing about that. :whistles innocently:

edited cause I suck at HTML tagging.  That'll teach me to use the preview button...

In the original fairytale, the Beast was a complete gentleman, kind and gentle the whole time Beauty was with him. He did con Beauty into living with him by threatening her father, but considering his position, it's kinda hard to blame him. He redeemed himself by letting her go to simply visit her family, which nearly killed him. Disney's Beauty needed to justify leaving because her father was dying, but that wasn't in the story. Gaston was, of course, totally Disney.

Disney made the Beast into a violent, spoiled brat. And they made the Prince in The Little Mermaid into a Prince Charming and turned the Witch into an evil fat ugly monster (she's a fat and ugly woman, obviously she's evil!), thereby completely turning the story on its head. I'm sure if they made The Snow Queen, they'd make the queen turn into a huge yeti in the end so Kay could kill her with a giant icicle.

I hate Disney a lot.

We watched the second half today.  It talked about how Disney perpetuates racial stereotypes.  The only representation of African-American people was in the Lion King, and they were the evil hyenas.  You know who I identified with growing up?  Pocahontas.  She was the closest thing to my skin color.  My mom didn't think there was anything wrong with tv and Disney until I told her I was white (which I'm not).  She went crazy and made me watch "Imitation of Life" and gave me a Kenya doll for my birthday.

*edit* BTW, yeah, when I read the original fairy tales, I was shocked.  More violence and gore in some, less in others.  Beauty and the Beast was better in the fairytale version.

TSR is going to be the last paysite to go down...but hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later.

I second that.

We really need to try raise awareness.  I'm sorry, but when you're first going out for custom content, you go to tsr.  EA links to them on their site, it's the first thing you get when you Google "sims 2 custom content."  A lot of people don't know their options.  I mean, tsr and Peggy were the first places I got my custom content.

Dammit, I should've posted there.  I have a million answers to their stupid arguments.  Oh, they've taken out the noncommercial part of it."Stupid Thoma$$

Sorry if I said something wrong Paden.  I'm getting as pissed as you right now.  I'm scared I may turn into you.  You really scare me...

HA!!  We're watching a film in Sociology called "Mickey Mouse Monopoly" and it talks about how Disney manipulates its image of itself, how Disney manipulates the public view of innocence, and what kind of perspective they put into our young girls.  It's quite disturbing.

The worse was the Beauty and the Beast.  I loved that movie, and it started talking about how it teaches girls to accept abuse and look for the prince.

Well, I'm friends with netseeker2 (which she can't stand TSR either) even thou she is an SA we talk all the time! She said that the SA's don't get paid and the FA's get about 10.00 for every 10,000 downloads!

I don't know about the pay policy at tsr (I'm never going to capitalize them again.  They're worse than t.u. in my book.  Hey, I'm an Aggie).  They just have too many acronyms, dammit.  It's just that it sickens me how they say we should pay them because of the love they put into their crappy shit.  I rather prefer the "I want your money to feed my chilluns" approach to that.  They love to create crappy shit, so we pay them?!?!  WTF?!?!  I'm sorry, HP and Nouk create because they want to, and then, they agonize over it even though there are like a thousand people who are saying, "OMG I LUV UR STUF!"  Then, the people who don't subscribe to tsr defend them, saying, "We get Kudos."   Kudos is crazy!!  It takes a million fucking years to get one day of subscriptions.

And that ten dollars for every 10,000 downloads can really add up, seeing how they have to upload something one file at a time.

edited for clarifimacation

That thread is ridiculous.  Most of those people have never read the EULA, and they keep talking about how much love that person puts into that content and that's why they pay.  I guess the FAs and SAs and whatevers are prostitutes and mail-order brides.  Seriously, though, we need a better ambassador.  He/she had conflicting issues.  Then they say they took the "noncommercial" part out.  They neglected to say that Eaxis only took it out of non-creating tools.

Okie, I'm sure I've seen these hairs somewhere.  I was really shocked when I saw them in Bon Voyage, and I would have had the hair, but Bon Voyage  borked my downloads folder (I know, backup...)

Also in Bon Voyage, one of the female hairs looks a little like Dr. Pixel's, I'm sure...but I might be mistaken...I'll get some comparison pics up somehow.

Every time anyone in the world makes something in the editors while playing Spore it is uploaded and saved on EA servers, then shared with others around the world.

but don't understand how?.......And how would this work in Sims 3? (computer tech idiot)   Please be kind.

Yeah...beautiful custom content for the sims takes lots of exporting, importing, and testing.  It wouldn't be good if we ended up with some mesh that was half complete or some mod that fried our computers.  Will there be quality control?

liegenschonheit, you make me feel humbled by your post.  I'm not a html-jockey-have-my-own-website type a person, so I don't know the costs of hosting a website and servers and all that jazz.  It was nice to get a freesite owner's perspective on costs.  Ever since I've seen the donation drive at MTS2, I don't see the hosting cost argument either.  If your stuff is good, and people regularly troll around your site, when donation time comes, people will donate if they have the money, be it five dollars or a hundred.  I know when I get some money the first thing I'll do is donate to MTS2.
