Title: New paysites: Habitat43
Post by: RedLove on 2008 April 04, 01:05:05
Yay, Saslia and co have opened a new paysite! You can get a sub for only 8 EUROS a month! But wait, you can get a year for 60 euros! Bargain huh? Better than Torque's ole paysite.  :P You are also promised one new new set per week.  :o

http://habitat43.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 Brand spankin' New.  ;)

Does this mean they have left TSR or are they double dipping?

Title: Re: New paysites: Habitat43
Post by: RedLove on 2008 April 04, 01:18:25
I think they are all three (Birgit, Steffor, and Sasilia) still at TSR. Not surprising though. Their twatage has reached new levels.

Post by: sheehaz on 2008 April 04, 01:43:47
Birgit's triple dipping, Steffor's double dipping, and most of sasi's tsr stuff is free. I find it laughable that they think that people are dumb enough to want to sub to this little site of theirs.  >:(

The stuff they have is not bad, but not worth 8 euro's (if a paysite could actually be "worth" something).

Was TSR not giving them enough love?

Gah! Another one... no doubt all the TSR obsessed idiots will be subscribing... :'( ???  --sadly they already seem to have a fair few members [groans]  definitely destroy worthy! Get that shit of the internet!!!

Love for them = earning Money in ILLEGAL ways.

Do they really think they're stuff is so spectacular that they believe it is worth SHIT?

People sign up for 8 dollars a month? That's idiotic.

Title: Re: New paysites: Habitat43
Post by: LBlock on 2008 April 04, 08:38:56
I am definitely subscribing. I mean their furniture is just oozing with such craptastic detail you just can't help but dish out your cash! They already have the very classy Flash rotation so you can browse their shit... I mean products. Now all they need to do is vomit out some Photoshop bloom all over their photos and it's a done deal.  :p

Post by: dietofworms on 2008 April 04, 11:47:47
It's not 8 dollars a month, it's $12.50  in US currency. :o

Am I naive, or is that the most money anyone has charged for a monthly sub?

Title: Re: New paysites: Habitat43
Post by: redisenchanted on 2008 April 04, 13:59:13
Gah! Brigit the greedy bitch has posted about her wonderful new subscriber page at N99.  >:(  There's been some disgusting gushing.

$12.50 USD a month??? That is a new high/low I think. It makes me sick that Steffor left the awesome free site Avalon to team up with Brigit. Blech. Brigit's stuff sucks, the animations are wrong, the work is sloppy and Steffor is not as good as she used to be.

Post by: Hecubus on 2008 April 04, 14:29:21
Yeah, that's as high as they go, I think.... Jojoba, who minds our subscriptions, can confirm. That's pretty shitty of them....I'm especially pissed off at Steffor who started off free and got sucked in by Thomas's siren song to the Teutonic Twats last spring.

The sense of entitlement is mind-boggling.

;D "expose" I do not think it means what you think it means...

I'm usually very tolerant of non-native English speakers, but it's great fun to poke the twats. Expose indeed, expose your appalling greediness and mediocre talent.  ::)

Post by: alia on 2008 April 04, 18:14:41
What's the matter, Birgit, doesn't Thomass pay you enough?

Didn't she claim that she went over to TSR because she could not get enough donations? She'd get one or two donations, and no more, since by then the set would be in the booty.

What makes her think it would be different this time?

Anyways, the twattage on that site is overwhelming.  ::)

Simply looks like a TSR add campaign to me. The other option would be that they don't feel they get enough individual attention and appreciation. Over there they share with other FA's.

Title: Re: New paysites: Habitat43

The policy part that is written in English is very badly worded.  "You may not clone our items, except you have our permission."  Seems like such a kick in the teeth to have that spot at the bottom where they credit and thank MTS2, and SimPe, etc. for giving them the tools to make pay items.   :-[

Because this time she gets Tom Ass's money AND money from her site.  There is no limit to how low she'll stoop for money - just watch as I throw this 5c coin on the ground - watch her ..... yep, she danced sexy for it.  :o

I have an evil plan: We're working on getting their pay stuff in the booty as we speak. I suggest we all download it, and post VERY PUBLIC PICTURES of their pay items in our games. They'll see their shit everywhere and wonder why they don't have that many subs to match the sheer numbers. THIS is a great place for using LJ, blogs, your own sites.

Maybe I'm taking this a bit personally...but these twats have been a thorn in my side for a year now, and I want them to KNOW we're calling them on their greed.

And LULZ at "Twatąge" - it's elegant!

Holy crap, 60 euros??? For that??? *sticks head in toilet and flushes. Looks back at PC screen. Sacrilegious info is still there.*
Not to mention that naming your website Habitat43 makes it sound like there were 42 Habitat sites and they just had to cope. Kind of like getting a new YouTube account.
I honestly hope they're not getting any subs. Apart from the fact that the furniture is ugly - taking a stab at being minimalistic-modern and missing the target - and that they're pilfering for extra euros in the vilest way possible, they run a paysite and stuff. And pay sites must die.

Leonhard, you are deluded, my son.  And not just because you posted twice in a row instead of modifying your original post. ;D  Birgit's stuff LOOKS good in photos but is incredibly shitty in game.

Me, I can't wait to toy intimately  with Birgit's geometric framework. :D

one of the few things I downloaded from the booty when I first found it was a nursery set by Brigit. I deleted it the first time I saw it in the game because it was so fugly. The pictures were  cute though. Little brown set with alligators on it. In game, looked put together by rabid monkeys with advanced syphilis.
And then my hard drive died and I had to reinstall, so now my download folder is 95% free (I downloaded some lots that had pay stuff, sadly, and haven't cleaned it out yet).

I had part of a nursery set that was in a house i downloaded.  the baby sunk in and you could only see a tiny piece of the top of the head.  i was displeased.  I would have been really displeased if I'd purchased it.

Normally, it's just enough to have stuff people want in the booty so fewer dollars are being spent for pixels. But these guys...this band of greedy bitches (their term, not mine)...well, I want to rub it in their faces.

Well deelink is in Oz, but apparently they're only in Queensland.  They're a round bread with an unusual robust texture (not like soft and squishy white bread) usually topped with black pepper, garlic and parmesan cheese.  They're made in a free form with 8 scores for slices.  It's hard to explain - they're not squishy like soft white bread, but they're not hard like crusty bread - they're kind of in the middle - it's unusual bread.  My google fu fails for pictures, or recipes. Sorry. Just don't come to Queensland and compete with me.  :D

Nope - not focaccia.  Rodini is denser than focaccia.  Maybe deelink can tell us if it is similar to something down south, and we can then translate it into something else everyone else knows.

I've checked bread specific sites like The Fresh Loaf and King Arthur Flour's Baking Circle and no one has ever mentioned rodini there, either.

Calalily, maybe you can ask the bakery you get it from what it might be called elsewhere.

From what I'm finding out about the rodini they're telling us about, it's pretty much a baguette sliced and filled with the ingredients of your personal choice. I've done the google-fu on rodini bread and came up with this page, which may have been posted a page or two back, http://www.cobsbread.com/breadrange/recipe/22.htm , and this: http://www.bakersdelight.com.au/cms/document.php?objectID=211 , and this: http://www.calorieking.com.au/foods/calories-in-fast-foods-take-aways_c-Y2lkPTIwJmJpZD00OSZzaWQ9LTEmcGFyPQ.html

Please let me know if I'm even on the right track, I'd like to know because this has me curious and hungry at the same time. If it is as simple as a baguette, I could make this here at home because I  love to try out new baking projects... If not, I'll just have to get passports for the family and then wish my way to the Land of Oz and bug all of you down there to death in the future...

It sounds like classic pizza dough made with high gluten flour and formed instead of flattened out.

Nope - not pizza dough.  That would have been easy.   ;D

Yeah, I'm striking out as well on rodini. Perhaps our resident Queenslanders could provide a recipe?

If I had a recipe, I would be cooking and eating rodini and needing a forklift to move, not posting on a forum.  :D

ROAD TRIP!

NO WAI! Rodini is all mine.

Paden got it right - all those links are right - and maybe shed some light on something - here at this http://www.calorieking.com.au/foods/calories-in-bread-loaf-rodini-garlic-parmesan-black-pepper_f-Y2lkPTM4OTY1JmJpZD00OSZmaWQ9NzMwNDAmcGFyPQ.html (http://www.calorieking.com.au/foods/calories-in-bread-loaf-rodini-garlic-parmesan-black-pepper_f-Y2lkPTM4OTY1JmJpZD00OSZmaWQ9NzMwNDAmcGFyPQ.html) - they seem to indicate it is a "Bakers Delight" bread - so maybe that's the only place in the world that makes it.  Normally, Australia is the last to get something, but that would make it a first.  Hopefully deelink will be able to translate it into another bread by a different name, and we can all eat some bread of different names simultaneously.  :D Next time I'm at a Bakers Delight, I will ask them where the fuck it comes from, and we can solve the "Great Rodini Mystery of '08". :D

...But if it turns out to be a Queensland based phenomenon, rather than be swamped by rodini competition, I will report you all to immigration as an influx of dread pirates, and you can sit at the airport and wait for your flight back, and I will sit behind the glass munching on glorious rodini in front of your little deported faces.  :D

As a hungry person getting into making bread, that rodini looks absolutely divine!! I'm in for the road trip. I'll check my bread books and see if I can't find something where I can at least PRETEND I've got rodini. I'll bake bread in 100 degree weather, I will...

As a side note: I was at home depot this past weekend and saw some really nice cala lilies. Cala, you sure are a pretty flower! *how said is my life that upon seeing the flower, Calalily was the first thing to come to mind?*

EDIT: my google-fux can has suxxors, too. A search gave me people with the last name Rodini. Somehow, I don't think that's quite as delicious :'( :'(

As pirates,  we could collectively purchase said Queensland based bread store of awesomeness and expand into all the world where everyone could enjoy rodini 24 hours a day because we would never let a little thing like "store hours"  come between us and the fair bread that Calalalily tried to keep from us.   :P

Exactly. You have not had pizza until you have had pizza from a little hole in the wall place on, say, Varick Street in SoHo that sells pizza by the slice and has no place to sit down so you're balancing your bottle of coke, your slice, and all the shit you're already carrying, all the while attempting to avoid being pushed aside from some jerk who's late for court as well as the guys selling pirated videos and the sightseer who stops every three feet to ooo and aaah over some piece of crap architecture.

Just so long as there is no errant cooking of the onions, we have a deal.  However, country boy husband would go batshit in a country where you're that stressed all the time.  He finds a big hall full of 500 people stressful, so you know, low threshold.  :D

My whole body is sore. We rode all the rides in Movieworld and I could barely move yesterday.

For those living in Oz (but not Brisbane), and can get to a Bakers Delight, I am 100% sure that rodini's are also called pullaparts. In Sydney they come in a 8 part dice shaped squishy log, with different toppings/fillings. And they are called pull aparts because you pull them and stuff the tasty softness in your gob.
Rodini's were a bit smaller tho, but my friend called them pullaparts and the lady knew what she meant. So yeah.
phew. I found some pictures of similar ones you can get here http://anhsfoodblog.blogspot.com/2007/09/freshness-goodness.html

New York is pretty cool, but a little dirty and congested for my tastes. I love Boston. If you're ever on the East coast, the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island are really gorgeous.
California is nice. Los Angeles has killer traffic, but the weather is lovely, even though the dry heat during the summer has been brutal.

Canada has provinces, and also a few territories. We also have a clothing store called Roots (http://canada.roots.com/), which every Australian I've ever known has found insanely funny. Right up there with Mr. Rooter (http://www.mrrooter.com/) and Fanny's Fabrics. (Couldn't find a website for that last one, but they exist. I promise.)

But yeah, Chicago's a decent city. It's really nice downtown, and you can come see this fabled "bean" which is just a bean shaped piece of glass that makes you hot if you go within 50 feet of it on a sunny day. It's cool underneath it, but if you look up, it starts messin with your perception. As someone who needs to get her eyes checked, that's NOT the best feeling in the world. I think that San Antonio, El Paso, and Austin would have crappy barbecue  :D. (I honestly don't know if they would or not.)   College Station has awesome barbecue and steak (it's all these effin' cows around here), and Houston and Dallas do too.  Also, you should try some fried chicken too.  And steak (any Texas Roadhouse is good, but besides that, no chains, except maybe Saltgrass when you're kinda broke).  Almost every fancy place offers steak, and you should have Sweet Georgia Brown, and some Tex-Mex, and.....here: http://bestof.dallasobserver.com/bestof/section.php?section=oid:18851

Dallas has too much damn food.

I love Chicago.  I live in Michigan and Chicago is one of those great weekend get-aways.  It was funny the first time I went there with my fiance.  The American Girl doll company (http://www.americangirl.com/ (http://www.americangirl.com/)) is there.  So there are all these little girls walking around with identical dolls, wearing identical outfits.  It kinda creeped him out, but I wanted to go to their big store (I grew up with American Girl) which creeped him out more.  It was full of identical outfits for girls and their dolls and there was even a salon where you could get your doll's hair done.  He now calls it the The American Girl cult.

I've been lucky enough to travel a bit, and ironically, my favorite place to go was Australia!  I spent a summer there as I teenager and have been dying to go back ever since.

Oh, I suppose we could do a veritble food tour of North America! We'll have to do the barbecue comparison tour (North Carolina v. Memphis v. Texas v. Kansas City), we'll go up to Montreal for crepes and poutine, Maine for lobster, Baltimore for crabs, Vancouver for salmon, then down to Mexico for REAL enchilladas. We can then do a pizza comparison, bouncing between Chicago and NY, oh, and then we have to go to the Bayou for gumbo and andouille. Meanwhile, we'll hit diners along the highways for probably some amazing pancakes, burgers, and club sandwiches.

And then I'll roll your American-fattened body back on the plane. :)

Also, the American mid-west isn't so boring.  The middle of the country has some of the most amazing scenery.  If you've never been to see the Grand Tetons, you're really missing something.  It was the first time I saw something that seemed the very definition of the word "awesome."

I'll lie. I'll say I'm going to Chicago with my Economics class to learn about the economic system in America. I'll forge some papers, rack up some money and fly over there with some friends and take some happy snaps to PROVE it was for school.

So nyah :P

That rodini, obtained through lies and deceit, will be like ashes in your mouth.  :D

Coolington and spawn are going to pack their bags when they hear of the gourmet delights you have planned - they will probably be asking "When can we go see Hecubus, and have this feast you promised us?" Evil! Evil!  :D All mentions of possibilities and options, thoughts and dreams to the spawn invariably become "promises" within the passage of a week.  :P

Don't forget to hit the San Francisco Bay Area!  It's not only beautiful, the food is wonderful, and the people are funky (in a good way).

I'd be there for the Arts and Crafts Movement houses, and for the trams.  :D I am sure that if I offered to take Hecubus over to see some Arts and Crafts Movement houses, she'd come, regardless of the foodstuffs available.  ;D

I would.

BTW: I never think of the Grand Tetons and anything in the broad region of the Rockies as 'midwest'. For me, that's the great expanse of wasteland plains from the Dakotas through Nebraska, Kansas, and down into the northern parts of Texas. I spent a week there one afternoon. In contrast, I saw 'awesome' on I-70, from Denver to the middle of Nevada. Absolutely stunning!

The bay area has good food, but I have never found them to have a 'specialty', the way other regions do. Of course, I'm happy to be proven wrong. In person, of course.

BTW: Cala, regarding the promise of a North American food tour, I'm game if you are. Just let me get through this next back surgery, m'kay?  ;D

Why does no one want to come to Chicago :'( Why DON'T I live in Australia?! :'( They have rodini, and I'm hungry...

Made me dizzy and want to vomit. So I got ice cream...
OMG you traitor! Resist the tourist brigade! Resist, I tell you!

Blues Fest '00, I had some pad thai, two beers, a stuffed apple cinnamon pretzel, some tempura, and an elephant ear with moose tracks. I puked all over Grant Park. Anyways, I'm very anti tourist activities. I've seen the bean, but only because my parents wanted to when they were visiting. I basically deny its existence at all other times despite the fact that I work less than a mile away. My only exception is summer festivals. Periodically, I take a summer and try to go to a festival every weekend. I was planning on doing it this summer, but my one best friend is getting married and too many weekends are taken up by wedding stuff.

I have specialties all of my own: cinnamon rolls so good that you won't need sex for a month or two, lasagna so good that you won't want sex for about three to four months and a roast ham that would make you go off sex for a year. Perfect for those who are doing the chaste lifestyle and a hazard for those who likes their bedtime entertainment! The triple-threat chocolate chip cookies can be dangerous, too... And you people wonder why I'm chubby...

Well, no. It didn't originate in SanFran, but it's something that they do very well. Ever heard of Boudin sourdough? It's very yummy.

Hey! We have cities, too! As a matter of fact I live in one ;). I know that Canada has a (an undeserved, I must say!) reputation for being provincial, but it's not so provincial that we don't have enough people to make major cities ;D.

Someone was yanking your chain then, you poor thing. There are definitely cities in Canada; the mistake may have come from the fact that every time an American newscast or program talks about a city in Canada, it's always "Vancouver, Canada" or "Halifax, Canada", instead "Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada" or "Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada". It sounds like those who informed you of that were getting close to the correct answer, but just missed it :D.

I love your cities, Mando. My favorite is Montreal - it's like having a bit of Europe just 3-1/2 hours away.

I love Montreal, too. Beautiful and loads of fun. I thought about moving there at one point, but decided against it.

Montreal is nice, if not very busy. I admit that I haven't seen much of it, just the highways with the crazy drivers and some of the bigger sights. Now, Quebec City is a lovely place. Walking around the crowded buildings, the cobbled lanes and basking in the atmosphere is an experience of its own. Quebec itself is very beautiful, everyone seems to have a swimming pool!

I live in Manitoba (a province ;) ) and in the city of Winnipeg. Being in the prairies there is not much to see, I much prefer the rocky terrain of Ontario or the hills in Nova Scotia. Plains and grains gets tiring after a while.

I'd like to live in the country or small rural town one day. I think it would be a lot less stressful than being in the city, but I'm a city girl, and I find small towns rather...creepy. I don't want everyone to know my business. Maybe one day when I'm a rich novelist ( ::)) I'll have a home in the city, and a nice quiet place in the country where I can do my writing in a nice, quiet, relaxed environment.

Being from rural Alberta, getting a chance to see other parts of Canada was a great experience.  :)

My travels: let me tell you them.
(Warning: Very Long)
I've been almost everywere in the US, there are a couple places I have yet to go to that REALLY facinate me. Me and my dad wanted to go to New Orleanes in a couple of years, and me and my mom want to visit the Carolina's.
The west is absolutly beautiful. Take my word on that. I've been to the Badlands, over the Rockies, and to San Francisco, and all I can say is that pictures can't sum up what it's truely like. I have a folder full of pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge that turned out dissapointing. The Bay is absolutly one of the most beautiful places I've been in my life. (I loved the sourdough too!)
The south is nothing like I could have imagined. Being a yankee I expected (shame shame shame on me) typical southern yokels, but everyone was really sweet to us. In Kentucky, the waitress at the restaurant we ate at for a couple days remembered our names. I did get sweet tea pushed on me like crack though.  ::)
And, because I'm so white, I have to say that I loved the East. I'm such a history buff that I was going nuts the whole trip. My sister could have cared less. Me and my grandparents had to drag her to every presidents house, authors home, and battle ground. Plus, the scallopes were delicious.  ;D

What a crock.  It's beautiful here!  I went to LA about eight years ago, and when I finally came home after a couple of months, dear God!  Sweet clean air, beautiful green parks, lovely river winding through the middle of the city, and if you drive for fifteen minutes - beautiful white sandy beaches!   It's no bustling metropolis and the shopping is crap compared to the bigger cities, but there's plenty of things to compensate for that here.

It's small, but it's pretty and it's my home.  I love it.

Where IS WA? What is WA a shortening for? Washington? My friend was there, she didn't like Washington, and told me i had nothing to do there, i guess i have to judge for myself, right?  I am planning a tour over, but i still don't know where, i have been thinking of Alaska, in SuMMERtime. Rafting the rivers. It's a beutiful nature there. Seen pics. I also have a friend there, he must be the nicest man in the world. I really like him, he is old. Btw. I have many relatives in USA, i didn't know for some years ago i had so many. That is kinda cool. I know they would preciate if i contacted them.
Ehem, *clears throat* -  i hope they vote for the favorite i have as the next american president.  ::)

Since i have visited most countries in Europe, and also been in North-African countries,  and even in the mideast, i want to see more of this world. I have learned that one get more tolerant to people, to different cultures, religions and the way they live, by travelling. My dad was many times over
in USA,  both to perform, he was a musican and to visit his old relatives.

Favorite food must be pasta, since i am a vegetarian it's easy to make and many good recepies. I also like Indian food, but it can be too spicy.

I live in Washington (the US state, not DC) and we have fab veggie food here, amazone. A veg Indian restaurant we go to pretty often has the best dosa. We also have rafting and gorgeous scenery here, though on a smaller scale than Alaska. We have a rainforest too, naturally, since we are talking about WA here. ;) The sun is shining bright outside my window today though. I'm not a WA native, but I am from the northwest US and have lived in WA for about 8 years. I like it here as far as weather (hate the cold) and things to do, but we are considering trying somewhere new for the heck of it (just NOT the midwest-my bf is from there and I have visited; we both hate it intensely).

I'm never giving TSR anything ever again. Let them rot.

On other news... I was doing my monthly big grocery shop, when I walked past Baker's Delight, here in good ol Sydney.
I looked down and SAW A RODINI!!!
It's like a big round bread covered with cheese garlic and herbs. I wanted to take a picture to show Calalily, but uh.. it would have been really embarrassing. The lady behind the counter had looked at me funny when I took out my phone to take a picture. Leaving me to absent-mindedly point at the bread and mumble something about not being THAT hungry, can I justify using my credit card for bread? So yeah they sell them here in Sydney too :P I just didn't know. I will go back soon and buy one, I just had bus money left to get home ... heh. Life is tough when you have no money left for rodini :(

I vaguely remember some nutcase chef on tv making cheese icecream. It was right up there with his "Bacon and Egg" icecream in the URGH! factor.

All this talk about Rodini is making me hungry. *grumble grumble*

Apparently there's something called garlic ice cream, and it's supposed to be good. O_O

I know, on the weirdness scale that is a 10.

I have had rose-flavored candies, though, and they're actually really good. Exactly what you would expect roses to taste like.

The candied violets that I got in Madrid were very tasty, too. What kills me are the people that like chocolate covered bugs! Ugh!

Chocolate covered crickets are actually ok. I'm absolutely terrified of bugs and it took me some time to work up the courage to eat them. o.o Crunchy, I don't like chocolate much so I'll probably never have them again.

I've had green tea ice cream and bean ice cream. Both were actually very good.

And I'd love to taste chocolate covered crickets. I don't know if I could eat them, but I'd love to try.  ;D

I bought some of those Harry Potter Jelly Bellys once. They're bloody repulsive, some of the flavours include dirt, vomit, and booger. For some reason I kind of liked the ground pepper ones though.

Jelly Belly things give me really bad migraines, it must be some special chemical they use in them that affects me.

Deep fried grasshoppers are kinda tasty though, just gotta remember to pick off the legs. Seeing Balut however reminds me of my time in the Anatomy museum when I was doing Forensics, ghastly sights in there  :-\ Yuck.

I hate bugs. HATE them. Ever since Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom. I could never eat them, just couldn't. I think even a loaded gun will fail to persuade me.
What's wrong with normal chocolate? Why does it have to have an exoskeleton?
You people = amaze me. I have drunk snake juice though. That's my claim to fame ;P God this Sudafed tablet I took is making everything stop start and my sentences are reflecting this..
Did you guys ever see that candy site that featured scorpions covered in hard candy with a stick? So you'd suck the hard candy and finish off eating the crunchy scorpion?

How repulsive!

I think I have, it was on one of those "World's strangest foods" shows. I remember reading some article about a zoo in Peggyland that was selling Tiger Fetus Wine, I cringed and died a little inside.
