166  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Re: More Smutty Than You: TSR's Hall of Shame on: 2009 March 16, 04:58:15
We have a free range farm nearby.  I've bought eggs there before, as they do sell to "walk bys."  They are defenately free range chickens, because I've seen them wandering around the place many times.  When I'd go walking, I often saw this cat they had, when he was younger, playing this game of leaping over the rooster.  The rooster always looked like, "Oh joy, this damned cat is jumping over my head."

I once had a goat from that farm get loose and almost follow me home.  I told my husband and he didn't believe me until I showed him the article in the paper about the goat.  Apparently, after trying to follow me home, he walked down the street to the graveyard, where he started eating flowers off of graves and bothering people coming to visit relatives no longer on this mortal coil.  He was a pretty nice goat though, for a goat.

But, this farm was free range before it was ever "in."  In fact, when they talk about the family farm, I figure this is what they mean.  They have a few cows, a few pigs, a bunch of chickens.  They grow some crops, mostly feed crops but a few vegetables and fruits.  (cash crops, I'm sure)  No animals are tied up.   They are either in barns, or wandering about in pens, or roaming loose like the chickens.  I hope one of the kids ends up taking over when the parents get too old to farm.

We have 16 chickens. They run around totally free. They lay eggs in the back of my hubby's pick-up truck, and they roost in the trees above our house at night. We feed them table scraps and leftovers, which they love. They eat all the bugs also. We like to refer to them as "the homeless", as in "did you feed the homeless today?"

We also have a couple of ducks that run around and, for some reason, they won't leave. We like having them though.

Adele is, by far, my favorite creator. I have everything I can find of hers. Always tasteful and gorgeous, with reasonable poly counts. It's no surprise to me that she is a talented 2D artist as well.

TS3 wouldn't be able to hire her without shaming everyone else there.

She is most definately a sims goddess IMHO.

Does tsr offer a color enabler. Won't most objects not show up without one? They say nothing about it in their little intro.
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question.  Grin

People need to wait. Really, the man hasn't even been in office for 2 months yet and he is already supposed to have everything fixed or commented on.

I agree. I have no expectations that he will fix everything over night. I do think Obama is way more likely to address the issue, eventually, than any president we've had before. He has already admitted that he smoked pot in college, and that he enjoyed it. So YAY Obama! Grin

Dunno what the current administration's stance will be.

At the Obama site there's a place where people can leave suggestions. The most popular one was to legalize marijuana. Everyone was talking about it on the forum they have there. Supposedly, the Obama administration supports legalization, but they aren't going to do anything about it until/if his next term. Many people have expressed their dissappointment in that Obama seems to be deliberately ignoring this issue, at least for now.

edited because I went to the site and the forum is not there anymore, neither is the suggestions button. I don't know what they've done, but it's totally different now.
kinda dissappointing. Angry

Skills required:
· Extensive knowledge of Maya is essential as well as skills in Photoshop.
· The ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment.
· Attention to detail.
· Good interpersonal skills.

Notice there is no mention of artistic talent as a requirement. I think my total lack of interpersonal skills would prevent me from doing that job. Wouldn't want it anyway.

Not to mention, it's a renewable resource that can be used for many other things like textiles and even lumber. It could possibly save our economy, and our environment. But, of course, that would make too much sense, so I don't see it happening anytime soon.  Embarrassed

Because the economy is so bad, California (gov. Arnold) is considering legalizing and taxing marijuana. hmmm
In Washington state, police are no longer persecuting simple pot offences, because they can't afford it.
But in Tennessee, where I live, the pot laws are very strict. They will ruin your life over a roach in the ashtray, and head shops are few and far between. Here, smoking is a 'sin'. You have to go to Georgia or Kentucky to find anything close to a hookah. I hate the close-minded attitudes about pot in this state.

"The laws against it are completely arbitrary. It's a plant that grows out of the ground, naturally, and if it should happen to catch on fire......there may be some side effects." - Katt Williams

True. But I do want to encourage him to remain free.

I'm a total control freak when it comes to my sims though, so most of them have no free will or motive/aspiration decay. I'm sort of a dictator god when I play, but I do take good care of my sims, always keeping them green and happy.
If you DON'T HAVE ANY MOTIVE DECAY, then your sims don't need to *DO* anything! Of course they're happy. Also, you SUCK as a player.

Perhaps, but I do sometimes let the motive decay stay on in order to explore certain aspects that require it. The reason I keep it off a lot of the time is so I can have them do what I want without them having to got to the bathroom or go to sleep. Sometimes I just want to see what will happen in certain situations.
It's just the way I play. It's not for everyone. My mother plays also. She just builds houses and creates the sims, but she doesn't play them. I always play mine, so our style of play is quite different. That versatility is a big part of what I like about the game.

To each his own. You play your way and I'll play mine.  Grin

It's refreshing to see a consciencious site owner for a change. It looks like he's taking the high road. We should all welcome him.

YAY! Architecture Sims! Grin

As a skitsophrenic(sp?), bipolar gemini with OCD, I have explored every possible way to play the game. I have all the EPs, so I have tons of sims with extensive life histories and generations of business owners, college graduates, farmers, home owners and renters. They live in elaborate neighborhoods with a variety of architectural styles. I'm a total control freak when it comes to my sims though, so most of them have no free will or motive/aspiration decay. I'm sort of a dictator god when I play, but I do take good care of my sims, always keeping them green and happy. Townies are the exception, I love torturing them.
I will spend days building a house and days decorating it. I love the architectural and interior design aspects of the game. I used to build very detailed houses out of legos when I was a kid. I also made and played with paperdolls a lot, hence my name. The Sims allows me the same enjoyment, but with way better graphics. Grin
I love the game, even if I'm not crazy about the politics behind it.

I think I'll try that cousins thing to see how far it goes. My kind of challenge. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I'm sorry, paperbeth, but my attorney (Trey something) will be contacting you. In the meantime, I would suggest you refrain from displaying "your" mermaid picture on any more forums.

I love the captions with arrows pointing, very 'Demitri Martin'.

Here is a piece of wall art I made. Well, actually, I drew the picture, but 'elencha' made my drawing into wall art for your sims. Many thanks to 'elencha'.
Our gift to all the pirates, a lovely mermaid to distract them from the troubles of the day.

edit: noticed that the picture is backwards in the frame, so elencha fixed it:

Honestly, I have no idea how to make custom content, except clothes. I think meshing is done with magic, so however you think is best.

edit: Wow! That was fast elencha.  Shocked
