And in the end, how will this solution be any different from what goes on here?  You have someone seling this .payfile with consent to combine it with a .package file.  And then, they can take that package file, upload it here or anywhere else, and it's back to square one.

There would be no consent to redistribute the copyrighted materials in any format, not the in original format and not in the .package format.

The difference would be that the EULA argument that are being used to sanction such activities would not hold and it would actually be illegal in the real sense of the word to do so.
Do you think that it would still be done?

That sounds like it's still trying to skirt around the EULA, but not really.  A product is still being sold to be combined with something that is to use the pacakge file format - and the sellers know this.  They would probably even go as far as to tell their customers how to insert the code into the package files, so they can't really claim that the items are independent of Sims 2 coding.  And if the sellers are doing this, they still relinquish the rights to their works - however much of it is actually theirs.  In the end, the sellers are consenting to redistribution of their materials if they are encouraging people to link them to package files in any way.

Plus, as someone mentioned before, this would render clothing and hair meshes useless.

The point is that only one person would need to buy it and put it together, and it's not like the original creator can say "you can't redistribute the package file, though".

Once it's out there for free, someone could take the .package file and rip out the art.  You don't have to cough up the cash yourself to get the art if someone else already did and it's available for download.

All content in the .payfile would be copyrighted material which you can't (legally) just share, on the same principle that makes it illegal to share music and movies for example.

It's funny to me that she ignores the harassment from the paysite side of things. Remember "the truth" being spammed around to bring down s2c and mts2? Remember the gathering up of private information from people who paid and sharing it in a forum only paysite owners could access? Remember sending people to troll here? Oh, how conveniently it is forgotten.  Neither side has "clean" hands so it is lolcat worthy when anyone acts like that.

More recent than that, she was pretty much supporting and applauding the personal attacks and foaming at the mouth of crocobaura in all the paysit threads.  That's pretty much how it was determined that for NeptuneSuzy that respect means "do what I say is right or I'll brand you as a meanie."  She knows nothing of respect and is quite the hypocrite.

So busted.

It was basically the same pro-paysite dreck disguised as the Delphy sex offender manifesto.

But really, it's only about the children.  The children need paysites to be safe in the world.

I'm pretty sure Infernal also put in an appearance under a new name.  The unstructured arguments, ridiculous comparissons and bandwagon bully mentality are a dead giveaway.

And for those who enjoy a good conspiracy theory, zeldap has thread bombed S2C again... Hmm.

Gee, $1500, if she had joined the platinum club over at DAZ3d she could of had some great software for 3D development at much way lower cost. NO she invested to make money off sims.

At $1500, you would think she could produce better CC.  I have yet to see anything she's done that couldn't be done in Milkshape 3D.  Her work is a serious waste of the abilities of 3DS Max.

I find it funny that she declares Malaysia as being known for it's fruad and it's terrorism.  Especially after she got Krispy Kreme lawyers on her case for stealing their trademark (fraud) and threatened to upload viruses onto people's computers (terrorism).

She needs to spend less money on Sims and more on a good therapist/crazy pills.

Plus, she's so delusional, I'm convinced that every word out of her mouth is a lie.

So will there be a killmark for this, or does Sshodan's pissivity level stop short of pulling her $40 hair collection and her "donation" system?

$40? Seriously?

It's about $30 now.  $2.50 apiece separately, and she used to not even sell separately.  You had to buy the group.

Plus, no Paypal option.  Moneybookers is not for me.

Is there some concerted TSR effort to infiltrate this site today? How come these patsies all signed up today?

Do you mean like that concerted effort to "eat up the bandwidth" at this site?  Also known as The Festival of Hypocrites and Liars Wink

Mock me all you like. I expected as much from you. And you asked me if TSR was threatened by The Site That Must Not Be Named. I was assuming that question was directed at me, even though I already said I don't speak for TSR... since you seem to have missed the disclaimer in the first place.

When you make a disclaimer, it's good form to avoid contradicting yourself, thus negating the disclaimer.

If you don't speak for TSR, then don't presume to speak for TSR.  It's really quite simple.

I was wondering something along those lines.  There seems to be regular intervals between them.

What happens when all the cannon fodder is used up?

What will get sent in next?

You'd think they'd want to send in people who could effectively argue a point.  Because if your mission is based on people who keep telling you that the EULA doesn't matter, but their own "rights" do, you've got someone who's not doing their job well.

Quote
There is a general implied understanding when creating game content (and you don't work for a gaming company) that it is a hobby and not a job. If you want to make it a job, go apply at a gaming company, don't try to illegally sell EA-derived works to poor, unsuspecting players who don't know any better.

Add to that the contracted agreement that when you do work for a gaming company, the content you make is also theirs, not yours.  If the people who make the code, textures, meshes, etc. at EB Games can't claim copyright over what they produce, what makes Joe Shmoe who frankencreated a derrivative work think they can claim copyright?  In spite of the false claims of vested interests, the EULA is an agreeement you make with the company.

"implied agreement"?  I smell bullshit.

Then perhaps you should wipe your backside.  Because you are not supposed to be running a commercial site based of of selling what does not belong to you - package files.

The bullshit I'm smelling is people like yourself who try to evade EULAs when it is in their best interests, but whine about the injusices of people distributing their work against their will.

Quote
It doesn't matter anyway. The average person is going to use TSR, not come here. I don't feel threatened by you. In fact, the people higher than me are laughing at you.

And TSR among several other sites will use ham-fisted censorship to make sure this statement remains true.  Because if more people knew about this site, the majority of them would in fact not continue to pay TSR.

I don't see how it's vastly superior, but that's open to opinion.  They've perhaps found a more thrifty way of running a website.  They don't steal TSR content, however.  This website does, and does not even bother posting a picture of it.  That's abusing TSR.

Oh for jeez sake.

Do you really think TSR isn't making any money and is getting what they spend on the site?  Get freakin' real.

I never said that.  Why do you care if they make money?  Even if their content "should be free", should their labor be free, too?

Why do you care if they don't make money?

Their labor is voluntary since it is based on the implied agreement that they can only accpet donations (re: not charge for them) to cover bandwidth.

Nobody is making them take something that is not really all theirs to begin with and change it a little bit so they can claim exclusive rights.

The weird effects are what happen when you put an alpha mesh against the reflective floor tiles at most angles.
