After writing out my thoughts in a post recently concerning the paysite debate, I've come to a decision concerning a change in the distribution of my donation items.  I do not wish to disrespect any previous donators, and I would like to try and maintain the skintones as personal gifts, however I also want to encourage the whole spirit of Filesharing.

I've been a member of N99's filesharing forum for a very long time now, and it is where I first shared my creations for TS1.  I have always loved the idea of passing items on and supporting that kind of request/receive communication... because it keeps a community alive and kickin', and happy.

I also fully support the PMBD booty, and SFV's wishlist/download system, as I feel they are conducting activities allowed to them by EA'S EULA.  Too many acronyms? lol

I also fully support donation gifts and systems for noncommercial websites, because that too is allowed by EA'S EULA.  But, I have never been very comfortable, personally, having donation items.  I think I've said that a few times on these forums...

Anyway, so I decided to change things.  Here is a paste of the new request specific to donations, and I encourage everyone to check out the revised policy page by the link at top-right:

UPDATE: On July 30th, 2007, I changed my distribution requests for the donation skintones. Feel free to share these files with anyone via email, IM, as contest prizes, and so on. My only distribution request is that they not be served somewhere openly for mass, unmoderated download -- my hope is for them to remain a personal gift passed on and on and on.

But that's only a request, I won't come mobbing after ya or anything.

If you do not wish to donate, you may request these files at fileshare forums, and POBS forums, such as N99.

I offered you free sim site hosting out of the kindness of my heart, and you react like this?  I pay for my own hosting, out of my own pocket.  I am willing to host others, out of my own pocket, because I have genuine love for the game and the community. I gain nothing in return, and I have absolutely no donation buttons on any of my sites.

I tried to help you out with your bandwidth cost by offering to host you, for free, not because I wanted to control you, but because I was taught to look out for those less fortunate than I am. So, ban me if you want, but you are the one that comes out looking less than stellar.  Again, my offer still stands if you want it and good luck in all of your endeavors.

I think it's ridiculous that only certain people can download your stuff. It makes you no better than a paysite that way. It's select management. Pisses me off.

I wonder if that has anything to do with her being a "non-verified" member.  Which means that her information has not been certified through a bank account.
