THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Thank you - as someone who is pagan and who practices magic, the putting of a k at the end of words ending in 'c' drives me nuts.  Yes, there is a difference between the gothic architectural period and the gothic literary period, but it is spelled the same in every book I've read.

As for the dark ages...funny thing i saw a few years back on one of the discovery type channels - judging by the rings in trees, and from descriptions of the world at the time, its possible that 'dark' might be more appropriate than most people thought.  Its believed now that gas and ash from a volcano actually hovered over europe, at least for a time.  Granted, telelvision, might not have been 100% spot on, and its been a while, so I might be misremembering a detail or two.

Oddly, it was also the golden age for the arabic world, in a lot of ways, including technology. Cheesy

And yeah, that would make sense.  There was a good bit of romanticism with the earliest goth music scene.  Bands like the Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus and my own personal favorite, The Bolshoi were pretty romantic in a punk/post-punk sensibility.

What every father wants his teenager daughter to wear to the beach:

I'm guessing there is a good reason we aren't shown the backside.  (pay content by simal10)  Also, most excellent quality on the top.  Uneven in the front, jagged edges on the side.  Not sure if the bottoms are supposed to look that way or if they are horribly uneven as well.

I always referred to the days I worked as a contractor for detasseling as my "dark ages", due to the tan I got. I didn't just hire crews, I was out there with them! I will never allow my kids to do it, either. Cheesy

*sighs* another quality masterpeice from TSR.

I know their is in more recent times a style of belly dance known as Raqs Gothique.  Some seriously wicked costumes, too.

I love how the one side has the string, but it looks like the other side doesn't.

"Dark ages" is a misnomer and is no longer used.
Nah, it's not a misnomer. It was called the Dark ages because it was Dark. There weren't any lights.

Oh stop being pedantic. There was so lights, they were just dim. So it should actually be called the Dim Ages.

On a side note I can't believe how many KISS fans we have. But good for you all actually admitting that in public.

I'm too old to care - I'll even admit in public that I like the Wonder Pets theme.  Smiley

I'm never embarrassed to admit the things I like or don't like. I really don't give a damn what other people think. This is me, this is who I am.

Goth, punk, emo, I'm so glad that I'm not in high school anymore. I hardly see anyone with those "looks" in college. It may just be the school I'm in, but it seems like most people outgrow those things in their 20's.

Not in art school. This is emo kid breeding ground. Although the majority of the teens out here are either ghetto or scene hipsters.

In the college I'm at now, people actually get called "nerds" for getting good grades. I was gobsmacked for a week when I heard that; I hadn't heard someone get teased for being smart since ninth grade or so. Also, it is very common for people to talk and play with their cell phones during class. Oh, and they bitch and moan if they have to read one whole book. Basically, schools in the south in the U.S. don't prepare kids for college one whit, and this is what happens.
