Personally, I'm more bothered by pointless polls and posts then I am noobs.

Anyone that takes the time to reply to a post with insipid comments like: "You took the words right out of my mouth.", "I couldn't have said it better if I tried."  My all time favorite "Yeah, that." a very close second is "I agree with what soandso (who's a way more intelligent person than me) said." or anything along the same lines of mindless agreement, that's the person who wins the stupidity challenge hands down.
18  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / And again.. new paysite. on: 2007 February 02, 00:36:57
I think that the last few entries in her Guestbook are way out of line. It is possible to make your point without doing the childish name calling crap.  Arguments are so much more compiling when you throw in the random bastard, bitch, and stinking low life when you want to persuade someone not to go the pay route.

Also, the constant reference to the poor quality of her clothings, which is purely subjective, as a reason she shouldn't be a pay site implies that if the quality is good then demanding money is ok...ummm, that's not what this site  is about, or it wasn't the last time I read the mission statement.

Not that anyone from here would write such drivel or act that childish or so I hope.
19  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Exnem/LL charging for Maxis recolours. on: 2007 February 01, 15:38:56
SimFreaks has been doing that from the start and charging a hell of a lot more for it, too. There's a site that is living off its TS glory days and like all old diva's really needs to understand that there comes a point when retiring from the public is best for all parties involved.

Charging for maxis recolors has always  bothered me, and the people who pay for it must be utter morons. The other thing that irritates me is when I see free content recolored and put  on a pay site *coughTSRcough* to me that's just low and dirty.
20  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / A question/suggestion to the moderators on: 2007 January 31, 17:41:13
Rather then place the responsibility of protecting children on the various non-familial people and/or institutions, usually indifferent ones at that, we should expect parents to stand up and take responsibility for protecting their kids from whatever crap the may read/see on the internet.

How do you propose that Pescado and the mods keep teens off the site; are you going to personally do a member by member age verification?

Congratulations - this just shows that the people who use a site will help out with costs when there is a need. Best of all, the contributors walk away feeling satisfied with what they've done rather than scammed.  Cool
22  The Pirate Ship / ARR! / Why do people pay for some of this stuff? on: 2006 November 11, 22:16:26

Also, paying for an item in the community is becoming a status symbol among younger players.

Not just Younger players. Older ones do it as well.
Seems everyone is trying to get what everyone else does not have so they can show pictures of it.

Wee

But, if you can claim an object in a house you show as "unavailable" your status rises even higher. Unavailable items are a much better status symbol than saying its from a paysite, but having pay item does mean your part of the "in crowd".
