My husband has hair like the one long hair Maxis made for guys that comes with the original game (after being halfway down his back for years), and only recently started wearing colours that weren't black, and eschewing t-shirts, and he's manly enough for me.   I'm not particularly fussed with men who have muscular boobies bigger than mine - but that doesn't seem to be what people are saying either.

But that's what I mean by manly - that it needs to be defined.  I did look up GQ on google images, but I saw a lot of white shirts, camel pants, and black suits.  That's not a lot different from what is already available in game, so I'm curious to know what sorts of things people mean, cause google is not being my friend with "normal mens clothing" unless you like hoodies in three different colours, transitioning into porn on the second page.

My idea for this concept of "manly men"

They can have GQ type of clothing like suits and stuff but tight pants cannot be there for every single outfit.  There has to be the basic essentials of mens clothing: pants (regular waist, low waist and untucked) that are not all skin tight or attached to socks with sandals, shirts (tees, polos, button-ups etc), non-anime"esque" hair).  The option of mix and match is a must for tops and bottoms

For me, I prefer the more casual looks. Jeans, polo shirt, t-shirt, button down shirt, singlets, sneakers or boots... Some of the stuff that came with the game is ok, but the colours suck... Suits? Yuck. Those disco looking shirts? Ick. But a nice sweater is good.

But tight leather pants can look good, too. Any kind of shorts other than those fucking bermudas... ooooh, my poor eyes... don't torture me with loud prints! The biker look can be fun. Resident geek/nerd I can live without... I really need to think about this and write a list, don't I?? But do you get a general sense of what might appeal to some and not others? And I hate the pants half-way down the ass look... And if you're gonna make the shirt that goes with the kilt, make it for females, too! Lol!

Hey Paden, don't hate on the bermuda shorts!  There just need to be more solid variety  

And another thing for normal mens clothing, keep it simple!  No funky looking designs.  Graphics on tees are fine though.  Solids are the best way to go, less matching involved.

Yeah, we need some more "everyday" guy. Not every single guy needs to be wearing tight jeans and band tshirts. Or suits with bandanas hanging out everywhere paired up with jeans. Fanseelamb's stuff is great. And I like Tuulia? I think that was the site that had the guys in the black dress pants and button up shirt with vest? Eyecandy I think was the site? MOAR stuff like that. Not all my men need to look like gangsters, goths, emo, or like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy graduates (CocoSims, I'm looking at YOU!).

Don't get me wrong, I've seen some domenowrighthereinthemiddleoftraffic hot guys with long hair. But that style (along with the emo style) seem to be what dominates many of the cc hairstyles out there for guys. Nouk has a few really awesome shorter styles that look very GQish and manly.

As far as clothing goes, I prefer the casual everyday, untucked, jackets with jeans, polo, etc. However, there does seem to be many that think if you are wearing jeans then you must be wearing tennis shoes no matter what the whole outfit looks like.  :roll:

I love that second style. The kinda curly, tousled style. I don't think I've ever seen a hair that could successfully capture that look. I've seen similar ones, but they verge to close to emo for me.

Yeah, sitcom and HBO series hair, not some kind of Boys Can Be Girls Too. Now, I will admit, I do like longer hairstyles most of the time, but nine times out of ten only two or three even look good in game.

I think before my game blew up my most popular male hair was HP's Gaius, Seomi's Windswept and Long, and Louis' Long Ass Alpha-editable hair. Nothing else even LOOKED good in game, no matter how awesome it looked in screenshots.

Which sucks because although I'm not a "tweener girl" I am a teen and it sucks that we don't have many normal hair styles  :lol: Which is why I only use Maxis hair for males. If any knows of any normal ones let me know S'il vous plait et merci.

In my game, all I use for my straight guys are HP's and Maxis hair.  Nouk, if you decide to make more normal straight-guy hair, I will be a very happy girl.  I love that style.
