I just read that whole looooooooooong "Delphy fact" thing... It was specifically designed to give me a headache, wasn't it?
Anyhoo, as I said before. I think people should know and I LOVE the fact that some people are shaking up the drama a bit. I was getting bored.
The whole long long bit about it being a cult is over the top, however. I resent that. As a student of religions I resent the whole misguided use of the word "cult". In a very VERY base and simplified way all cult means is "new religion" (whereas "sect" is a branch of an old religion, early christianity can be called both "cult" and "sect")... Sure the sims community can be interpreted a new religion, what of it? Lots of contemporary things are like that. Were any of you ever a part of the Buffy/Angel community? I'm still a member of
that particular cult. Although the community have thinned a bit, the worship is still going strong
New religions aren't necessarily bad. In fact, they can be very good and very useful. The way they choose to run things over at MTS2 with "don't question us" etc has NOTHING to do with them being a "cult" and more with them simply being run by an autocratic asshole. True, some cults are like that, but so are some households or some countries, for that matter
Anyhoo, what I'm getting at is... I would have deleted that message too, JUST for that bit, or at the very least edited that self-serving nonsense out of there.
Ok, so some of you may think I missed the point a bit, but that doesn't really matter to me. The way the message was worded and the examples used annoyed me to a point where I didn't honestly
care about the point of it.
There was my two cents, on with the drama.
