Well, I've sent an email to Hide-my-IP with that link to coconut and some background information. Probably won't help one lick, but I figured they have a right to know if someone is using their product to hack websites. We'll see, I suppose.

I had another look at the ban in our database and just wanted to add that coconut is correct that the word I blurred out in the email address does end in "n" as coconut stated in their journal.

Well not only the log files, but you need to get in contact with the person that first traced the IP address. Even with log files, it doesn't prove that the IP address if from Hide My IP. It just shows how you got the IP. I would try to find out who the person is that first traced the IP back to Hide My Ip, or try to trace it yourself for proof.

About Hide-my-IP, this is the reply I got:  Sounds like they're willing to take this seriously. I'd post this over at simsecret, but does anyone know how to contac the mod whose account was hacked directly? I'm not that familiar with the LJ, I really just read the secrets there. If any of the mods are reading thjis, shoot me a PM? |

Blech at LDG. She says she doesn't want to get involved in community politics, and yet allowing her content to become pay isn't neutral--it's completely pro-paysite. She just stuck herself right in the middle of it all.
And bringing in the whole "everything happens for a reason" crap into it? Give me a break. This isn't some great philosophical debate. It's simple: selling content=illegal. That's all there is to it.

The LDG light switches aren't bad, but there's some at MTS2 that I like better (from personal experience - ack! don't hit me). The LDG ones are categorized in deco, and unfortunately, so is damn near everything else in my downloads folder. The ones at MTS2 are categorized in wall lamps, so, yeah... much easier to find. Also, when I'm putting lights in a house, the MTS2 ones are right there, so I don't have to go searching.
