TSR IS A SUCK-ASS SUCKY WEBSITE

I've noticed this at TSR for a while.
A few years ago I went there to look at teh houses and the minute I got there my Norton popped up and said that the site was trying to install a tracking device?
After that I had two hits from viruses there, too.

Either Thomas is spending his money on dates with Atwat or Rogaine, because he sure isn't taking care of that site at all.

Are you all getting these even with ad blockers on? I've got AdBlockPlus and NoScript running on my firefox, so I never see any ads unless I say they can show up, and I haven't gotten any viruses or trojans from TSR. Hm.

While I use ad-block, I also have an ad-blocking hosts file installed.  The benefit of a good hosts file is that known adservers, as well as servers known to distribute malware simply won't resolve on your computer.  There's no way to accidentally get things on your computer, unless they're really obscure.

...or you're being careless while trying to pirate something.  That's the only way I've gotten malware on my computer in years, and I freely admit I was being an idiot.

I was browsing many sims sites I don't usually ever go to a week or so ago, and my virus-checker found something. I can't remember exactly what, because I pretty much squealed, flailed and hit anything that looked like an 'OMG GET RID OF IT!11!1!11' button, but I believe it was a trojan. I use Adblock plus and didn't see a single advert on the site itself, but it's really the only place it could have come from. I also went to Peggy, Parsimonious, ATS, Holy Simoly and Lyran. Peggy's the most suspect on that list, but I think people only get seizures from her, nothing else

I don't find them so fascinating...I got better things to do than lurk around that place :twisted: . just think how many customers they may loose because of infected ads. And is Thomas warning his customers?

*looks around with caffeine-dialated eyes and rubs hands together nervously* Its a plot, I tell ya, a plot! They want to mark whoever comes onto their site and make us pay money to get the bad junk off of our computers... It's real, I'm telling you, it's REAL!!
Sorry bout that, had a bad flashback to when I was having my High School finals and was really tripping on the No-Doz, popped about a dozen of them before my Government final. Got an A, but man, was I impossible to live with for a day or three!
But it does seem funny that the paysites are having problems with the ads, or maybe they know about them and it's a case of caveat emptor? (Hope I spelled that right, all I know is that it means something like "buyer beware," right?)

Paden they perfectly calculated this. You see if this users computers are disabled for a while bandwidth expenditures for the month are decreased. So that way their profits look better as they still get subscriptions, and save bandwidth.

Could it be that they know about it because they planted it there?

Can they track people's movements and find out where they browse from using a trojan?

Just a thought I had when I read about the Trojans on this thread.  

Another thing, I have suspected for a long time that TSR was behind the high bandwidth bills that many sites would get.  Then Thomas would ride to the rescue and offering them enough money for their files to cover the huge bandwidth bill.

It just always seemed funny to me that sites would get slammed with a huge bandwidth bill and then turn up on TSR. Usually with a message on their front page that they have closed their site due to high bandwidth and that they will now be at TSR.

Who approaches who?

Am I the only one that suspects this?  Am I just paranoid?  Am I getting like Jan/Charlotte?  :roll:

I'm not entirely sure if you can track with a trojan, but it would make sense!
