But seriously, I do like how they keep using the time and effort put into making the custom content as an excuse and yet completely ignore all the high quality free items that I'm sure took just as long, if not longer to make.

Changing the file date is child's play. If thats the best they can do, they are desperate indeed.

Thomas should focus more energy on finding good creators for his site.  We'll always find a way to share his TSR files regardless of his trickery or him banning members.  That will only result in him spending more time on trickery and banned members finding a way back in, if they really wanted back in.  Not that hard, we've already had someone do it who was just banned a few weeks ago.  The funny thing is they bought the sub with the money TSR refunded them after banning them for their old sub.  

The only thing he will end up losing in the long run is more money, from people who would have subbed regardless of their associating with PMBD or SFV.  His chances would be better ignoring Pescado and hoping that Pes gets bored TSR, then thinking he will somehow thwart filesharing.

More skilled than the artists who actually work for EA? I call bullshit on that! The artists at EA would have to have advanced knowledge of and be able to produce texturing (photo and paint), modelling (character and environment), rigging, lighting, concept, game design, testing (and on, and on) in very limited amounts of time (days and days?, more like the next morning) and be able to apply and change those skills as needed for new projects (because no one will be working on just the Sims permanently). I hope someone called that girl a moron, I'm afraid it can't be me because that place gives me a rash.

I'm not desperate, rarely am  I am amused and mildy irritated at TSR though.

As for Helga, I'm not that upset - I downloaded some of her stuff and even her featured didn't impress me that much - looks far prettier in pictures than in game.  Curtains are one sides, textures are funky.

The only thing of hers I kept was that one dress she did, the one for her old avi on MTS2.

Random question.

I just noticed in the news at SFV that they've found how TSR were tracking files and banninating people - but the link to the article that explains how they were doing it isn't working for me. So can someone tell me how they tracked the files?

Don't worry about it since it doesn't appear to work anyway, people are still being banned somehow.  We've told SIH, and we'll help her to do anything she chooses to deal with the situation at her board.  However, it might not be the safest choice to share TSR files now.  

The fact is that if we share files we are going to have to deal with trickery and bannings from sites.  The fact is TSR has more resources to spend on said trickery.

If it were me I would completely ditch my sub, don't pay for TSR's trickery, and then download at the booty.  They are quite on top of TSR booty anyhow.  It's really the only way we will get the best of them, not if people stop being banned, but if people stop paying them.

I am really discouraged about the number of people joining the TSR ranks lately.  It doesn't matter that many of them are awful creators, it's the principle of the thing.  It's becoming like Starbucks, except that Starbucks is sort of good, especially the green iced tea.

I wonder if the rats are deserting a sinking ship over at MTS.  Bad publicity thanks to Lyric Lee et al?  Something is going on over there--the quality of stuff has gotten largely worse (not all of it, but a lot of it) and certainly sparser lately.  It also seems as if Delphy doesn't care too much anymore (although who could blame him?)

Even if TSR were better, and Thomas less rude, and the whole site were free, I would hate for there to be One Big Website.  :cry:

We have also seen a lot of people leave TSR and either start their own site or post at MTS2.  

Sims fashion barn, for example has tons of old FA's/SA's.
