I see, I just thought the ad was a bit risque, but that's probably just my opinion. It actually sounds like a fun little mmo.

From what I know about Evony, while the loading screens and ads are very.. erm.. suggestive......

It's just some boring city building mmo where you try and fight other city builders.. I guess like Civilization, but as an MMO? ..

Yup, pretty much. I guess they lure in players by baiting them with false promises of boobies. The wikipedia article gives a pretty good general overview of the game here.

I was looking at a sim and the cc that you needed to make it look like the pic this was a link to Peggy's Default Face Replacements and because of course you need a topless model to show off a face replacement and then when you look down further it also has a freaky nipple (bumps all over the thing looks like it has six little nipples) showing

Oh god, I remember Evony's controversy from the gaming blogs.  It's nice to see that they've change their ads sooo much .  Also, the creators of Evony are going after a blogger for finding out that they are former WoW gold farmers that decided to rip off of Sid Meier's Civilization and Colonization and reported on it.

I'm really not sure how whether or not they are former gold farmers (you gotta make money SOMEHOW), or that they ripped off Civ (who doesn't?) has anything to do with anything, really. The fact that they felt the need to sue over it suggests they consider it a sore spot, though. But just goes to show how important it is to keep your attack surface down.

It completely amuses me that Evony uses advertisements that have absolutely nothing to do with the game. They're basically saying that all gamers want to see is ZOMG BOOBIES. Speaking of boobies, what the fuck is wrong with that nipple, candiddreams. She clearly has some off disease. Ick

Wait so TRS says they are a pg-13 site? I informed them they had inappropriate ads (the evony one with the lady in the black bra), and they told me they do not consider that bad at all, and said they have removed one ad but not that one. Than the next day I went back to tsr and saw they added an even worse one with it showing a lady laying on her side in just barely there underwear.  I don't think ads like that should be pg-13, but I am old fashioned, needless to say I no longer use that site.

I feel your pain in the rear; my kids see these ads over my shoulder from time to time. My eldest has asked me about those ads, and I really don't have anything else to tell him other than "that company apparently believes it's okay to send the message that sexual suggestion is alright, as long as you're selling a product". His response? "How lame." He's nine.
