Cala, I think the key would probably be to give Kathy some time to sort stuff out, then we can talk about it again.. That way she doesn't end up feeling defensive and when she's done sorting out what's going on at Insim, maybe we can discuss it with her again? People usually don't have constructive discussions about this issue when emotions run high.

I never intended to discuss it with her in the first place.  I didn't go to Insim, I came here.  Kathy once asked me in MSN why I help out with the S2C finds, and I told her.  Other than that, I have had no personal contact, and don't intend to pursue her to make my feelings known.  She doesn't want it discussed is clear - and I followed her rules on her site, and have not said one word.

But to dictate what I can say on another forum not run by Kathy? Ludicrous.  I never addressed her personally, I didn't intend for her to read it (seeing as her feelings about the pay vs. free are on the "I don't care - let me show you it" I didn't even think she came here anymore) and I wrote it talking to likeminded people right here, discussing their policy.

She can make the rules at her forum, and I have abided by them to the letter. I've had a couple of posts deleted, and I got my message loud and clear - particularly since the shred that was left was moderated out a couple of months later by a different moderator.  She really can't dictate what I do somewhere that's not at her forum, and nor would I allow her to do that.  I don't pursue her anywhere - she doesn't have to pursue my opinion all over the web either.

(Finally, the issues with TSR now go way beyond them charging for content, and it would be terrible for any discussion or criticism as such to be lost in the "paysite debate."  TSR would be kinda sucky and creepy behind the scenes if it were free, let's all be honest here. )

I know this isn't the main topic being discussed right now, but I have to disagree with the last sentence here.  TSR's creepiness began the moment Thomas saw it as a cash cow.  Everything else that's gone down there is a result of his yearning for the big bucks and his incompetence as a manager.

About insim, kathy can do what she likes on her own forum. I'll follow her rules there because I love some of the content there. I'll say what I like here though, not to hurt her feelings or give her stress.

BUT, I think we've derailed this thread a lot. There's no comparison with the disgusting hypocrisy and pedo content of TSR and some policy issues at insim we don't agree with. If TSR was free and had the same pedo stuff, I personally would be just as disgusted. We do need to get the word out. Could we start a thread at MATY perhaps? Then we'd be free to link from any forum, even N99.

Pardon me for stirring shit, but I felt it was pretty presumptuous to ask for $500 dollars in donations after 5 month absence and almost no input or interest.  I'm not saying that RL doesn't reach out and kick your ass, but that little post Anna X linked to seems to indicate real life wasn't the only issue.

Exactly.  I made my comment here rather than there as an observation, not necessarily for the express purpose of stirring shit.  I stand my my original observation, while simultaneously reserving the right to frequent Insm hassle free.  I don't want to add to anyone's stress.  I like Insim too, but it bothered me, so I said something about it here in a thread that was already discussing it.  However off topic that discussion may be at the moment.

Yeppers, this is true too.  No offense, but Insim is small potatoes compared to some of these egregious examples of TSR violating their own PG-13 terms.  I don't spend a great deal of time at MATY, so my questions is this:  Even though it isn't the "evil pirate site," will anyone take heed of things posted there as Pescado owns that as well?

For some reason, even the nicey-nice sites still allow links to MATY. I think it's because even though they hate Pescado, they can't live without some of his hacks. Also it probably has the best tech help section anywhere.

Sorry to refer to something that is now several pages back, but I got a reply from Barb at N99. Let us just say she doesn't want to have anything to do with the TSR issue. Basically her reasoning is like this: Because it was discovered by pirates who swear and talk dirty and distribute pay content for a computer game for free, she'll rather accept that kids are exposed to pornlike stuff and possibly dangerous adults on TSR than help getting it stopped. Right ...  I'm sure all the TSR parents will appreciate that way of thinking.

Anyway, before doing anything more: Has anyone heard back from the TSR leadership on this issue? Are we sure all the smut is still there? Can somebody post something at MATY?

ETA: Apologies for taking so long in getting back to this. A certain little six week old somebody doesn't always give me time to do more than log on, before I have to run off to put the comforter back in his mouth, change his diaper or give him a cuddle.

By 'comforter' you mean soother or pacifier, right? Because I immediately thought 'blanket', but can't imagine you shoving a blanket in some poor kid's mouth.

Thanks for the info about Barb, Moune.   Not long ago there was a thread at N99 about alleged pedo stuff at MikeInside's forum, which is hosted by Delphy. It was allowed to run its course, and was never deleted.  In fact, Barb herself commented in the thread that the lewdness must be stopped. (It's titled "Lewd Conduct on Sims Site", and it's in the forum called "Don't Miss This News,"  should anyone want to read it.)

So when I posted about another site with lewd content, TSR, the post was removed within a few hours and I received no explanation, despite asking for one twice.  Why the discrepancy, Barb?   Hmmmm??

I think there is only one thing to say here: Some people are just bitches. Thinking about why they are or if there is something else going on will just drive you crazy. I have to wear an FYI on my clothes because people go crazy wondering why I act the way I do.
