Oh dear. I don't understand the logic of that bedroom. After serving in a war, does she think he'd want to come home and relax in a bedroom decorated in camouflage. How relaxing can that be? I work in a store, but I don't decorate my room in price tags. Worst Tribute Ever Award goes to...

Guys
I say this with reluctance, because Jan leaves me wanting to swat something (probably her), but until she opens up an actual paysite again, she should be off limits. The rule we've used around here for ages is, we only have a go at something if they're charging. And she's not charging, Yahoo groups are free.
So until she starts up a paysite again, she can be as nutty as she likes and everyone should leave her alone.

Angha Tyl, I'd agree with you except for the fact that "her daughter" (cough*Jan*cough) has a paysite: http://www.velvetvictoriansims2.com/"A free site with donations ($5.50 a set)"

 ok, that's different then..
I actually think we need to talk to the guys who were around when she pulled her heart attack (I turned up later and saw the mess she created) and find out if she's ever mentioned a daughter before.

I was around for all of that & don't ever remember any mention of her having any chilluns. This is a new one LOL It's just another made up personality. She just doesn't know when to give it up  BTW i think i went blind looking at that bedroom set

Well, you'd have to be blind - and dumb - to buy any of that stuff. I mean, did you look at the donation 'gifts' at the 'Daughter's' site? Who pays 5.50 for 4 rooms of snowman recolors? Or 5.50 for 1 (ONE!!!) house?

Ok, though I know that she is nutty, I do think that this was done for a good and nice reason. I typically hear all the time that there are those that want to do something for soldiers and families and don't know what they can do or what is needed. While this doesn't really help any of them, I think the spirit in which is was created was a good one. And no, we don't have camo in our bedroom. (but FYI there is no more camo, it is now the ACU - Army Combat Uniform)

Again, I hate to be the one defending Jan but I'm with Armywife on this one.. There's a long tradition out in the Sims Yahoo groups of people doing content like this. Most of the women there are older (in their mid forties to mid fifties) and you need to see this type of content as something like an online version of the arts and crafts you see next to the jams at county fairs..
I saw so many sets dedicated to the victims of Hurricaine Katrina back a few years ago, and I saw a beautiful tribute done to Memorial Day a few years back.. this is just a really bad example of this type of content. But Armywife is right, it's probably been done for the right reason.

Angha and AW, I'm with you so far as the Yahoo Group camo bedroom. But the snowman recolors at 5.50 USD ...

Like I said, as usual anything pay here is fair game...
It was actually a bit sadly nostalgic.. going back towards the end of Sims 1, the Yahoo groups were enormous.. It wasn't uncommon to have them have 3,000 members. Mal from memory at her height had 30,000.. I went and had a look, and they're a shadow of their former selves.
I suspect it's the legacy of the fact that hosting is a lot more affordable than it used to be.. Anyone who's got any brains gets themselves a real site..
